Great attention and very good job. We have been taking our pet for a while to the clinic, and we are always satisfied.
If I could give more stars I would! The whole staff were friendly, and knowledgeable. They put both me and my cat at ease. They treated him for an infection from a head wound. We saw Dr. George ,she was amazing the treatment was explained clearly and done quickly so we could be on our way. I highly recommend this vet. I will be taking all my animals here ; hopefully just for routine check ups from now on. I was sent home with 2 medications and the cost was very reasonable.
Although we lost our pet, the clinic did try to provide the best service that they were able. Unfortunately, they do not have the resources to provide certain tests that could have helped us be more decisive. In the case of our cat, it was unfortunate that we weren't able to find out what was causing his anemia, and because he went into such a quick decline, we were unable to make the call we needed in order to ease his passing. However, this is not the fault of the clinic, as all of the clinics in the area have the same issue. I wish that Brooks could offer better emergency vet care, for when our cat was passing we could do little to help him except hold him. None of the on-call vets were available as they were answering calls out of town. To be fair, they may not have been able to make it in time anyways. However, what they're lacking in services, they make up for in compassion. I will be eternally grateful for how they helped guide us in our cat's final moments. The on-call vet stayed on the phone with me and walked me through what was happening, so I could do what I could to comfort my cat, and gently advised us on what to do after our cat passed. While I wish we could have done more, it made the experience a bit less chaotic and traumatic. We were able to be more responsive, focused, and prioritize what needed to be done. Thank you for doing what you could to help us, and for your kindness throughout. It made a world of difference - especially afterwards when I was still trying to come to terms with what happened. While I wish we could have done more, we did what we could, and that brings at least some comfort.
After repeatedly questioning the Tech and the Vet. neither did explain the details about how running the same blood test again would diagnose the cause of our pet's anemia. They did offer to refer us to Calgary, but were also confident that the test would isolate the root issue so we didn't think we needed to. I had called to try and make a contingency plan since we wanted to be prepared to euthanize him at home if the test did not go well. They wouldn't pencil us in, but assured us that the on call Vet. would likely be able to do it if needed. In the end, the test we waited a week for failed to isolate the root issue, and the on call Vet was unavailable to make the house or clinic call. We missed our chance to pursue other diagnostics, treatments, or put our dying cat down peacefully. The small animal Vet was compassionate, kind, & apologetic after the fact, and the Livestock Vet stayed on the phone with us as our cat passed and gave us a needed break down of what was happening. - If pet owners ask for details, give them the details. Owners need the information early in order to make informed decisions about their animal's care. Pet owners, if your pet is Anemic and they don't know the cause, don't wait, get your pet care in Calgary if you are willing to pay for peace of mind. The 3 Vets in town only have the same basic care options, and you do not have the time to wait for a potentially ambiguous answer.
I just moved to Brooks and was in need of a new vet. I tried another clinic but had a hard time getting an appointment to see a vet. So I called Bow Valley and I am so glad I did. I got an appointment right away and was treated so well. The vet was extremely kind and asked me questions about my cats history, he was happy to listen and spend time with me to understand everything going on. This was so incredible because my past experiences with vets were nothing like that, I always felt rushed and unimportant. Not at Bow Valley !!! I'm extremely happy to have found such a wonderful vet. Thank you Now Valley for your kindness and patience. I highly recommend
The staff are very friendly. The vets make sure to check my puppy everytime he was due for his puppy vaccines. One vet gave him plenty of treats. My pup doesn't mind going to the vet. He's healthy!
Great vet clinic with better prices than I'm used to. I've been in temporarily in Brooks for 8 months and started buying food here a few months in. Their prices are lower than what I get in Lethbridge, which isn't very surprising as Lethbridge has a reputation for the highest vet pricing, but it was a welcome savings during my time here. I also took one pet in for her annual check up & vaccines, and also needed to do a tooth extraction. Their service and care were excellent! I decided to book check ups & vaccines for 2 other pets immediately prior to my return to Lethbridge. I'd rather pay less to do it here, than pay more a week later to do it in Lethbridge. I highly recommend this clinic!
