Our first time here. We were seated and served very quickly by the server. She was very prompt with our coffee and our order. The cook brought our dishes. Very friendly chap. I took the vegetarian omelet and my partner took the meat lovers breakfast. I absolutely loved my hot omelet and the soft fried potatoes were fantastic, nicely seasoned. My partner loved his breakfast since he is a meat lover. We would definitely come back again!
We really enjoyed Bourdeau. Passing through Lancaster on our way back to the states we were looking for something other than a Tim's or a Wendy's. Loretta's Chip Wagon was the first spot to come up, but after reading some more recent reviews we decided to keep looking. The perch sandwich sounded interesting, luckily Bourdeau was so close. We ordered a smoked meat, two perch sandwiches and a bowl of clam chowder. Smoked meat was good. Relatively typical and the bread did not hold up too well. Would not be my go to here. Clam chowder was excellent. Full of flavor without being overly salty. Nice and thick with heavy amounts of vegetables and clams. Very clam forward if you will. The perch sandos lived up to the hype. Perch fillet wedged into a buttered and grilled thick slice of bread. I was expecting a hot dog bun, so this was a nice surprise. We added the diced and grilled onions and would recommend it that way. There was a white sauce on top that my wife enjoyed more than I really noticed it. Towards the end of mine I added a little ketchup to recreate my Filet-O-Fish days, as trashy as that is. I think pickle would be a nice addition the next time I have one. All in all, glad we stumbled on this place. Will be a must stop every time we pass through town.
Fast friendly service. Their french fries were exceptional and I yearn to go back there just for them again. The perch roll was very good as well. Parking: Excellent parking
Great small diner find!! Very cozy, with a drive through. Their specialy is a perch roll!! Also poutine, and a bunch of other great diner standards. Strongly recommended, especially if you're traveling. They're a wonderful alternative to the truck stop food.Food: 5/5
Ok, it was over twenty years since I had a Perch Roll. I had the Perch Roll platter with amazing fries, and small coleslaw. It was awesome!!! I drove from Russell just for that.Food: 5/5
For years my father has been telling me about the fantastic Lancaster Perch rolls, and finally we had the opportunity to stop in for lunch. I was not disappointed. We had two perch rolls each and fries and coleslaw. The perch rolls were absolutely delicious, especially with the fried onions. So good! The service was great, and the location is excellent. I will definitely be stopping in here again for more perch rolls.
The owners at Bourdeau Restaurant are incredibly kind and their food is delicious! We were driving from Toronto and wanted our poutine and hotdog fix as we are originally from Montreal. We were driving in a snow storm and called ahead to place our order knowing we would be there close to closing. The storm worsened and we kept calling to let them know we wouldn’t be on time but they insisted we come and the would stay as long as it took. We ended up being an hour late and sure enough they greeted us at the door with freshly cooked food and even invited us to stay and eat! Amazing people! Incredible food! Highly recommend!
Great little family restaurant just off 401 at Lancaster Ontario. The poutine is the best around. Clubhouse sandwich and burgers also excellent. They are struggling a bit right now with a staffing shortage but be patient, the food is worth itFood: 5/5
Now this review is coming to you with a twist. Question? How long do you think it would take to make a Club Sandwich, given you have all of the ingredients at hand! Well let tell you how long it took me once my order was placed….Never got it!! 45 minutes of patiently waiting and not saying a word, I never had a bite. Now when asked how long! I was clearly reminded that orders are placed as they come in. Do you know how many people come in to a fast food restaurant in 45 minutes! So yes I got my money back and a few choice words were said, and that’s that, never again. Here’s the twist I like their food and yes it gets busy, I am sure they are busy but 45 minutes and then attitude I don’t except that.
Absolutely loved the perch roll and the upgraded fries to poutine was amazing. The gravy and the excess of cheese curds was perfect! The service was really good and friendly. Employees make for a great atmosphere. Hoping to be back!
