Just came back from a 5 day stay at Botanika with 3 days of fishing. The resort is beautiful as you would expect and the rooms were immaculate, pool amazing, food delicious and hot tubs clean and right next to the bar. The staff was what earned the 5 star review. I was with a group of 6 and the wait staff worked hard to get us exactly what we wanted. Our drinks were never empty, our tables were always ready for us and the wait staff was so friendly and went way above and beyond for everything we asked. Food was amazing and the chefs expertly prepared our catch every night for us. The fishing was great as well. Captains at Croc Bay worked their butts off to ensure we caught as much as we could, were gracious and they really knew the local waters. I have been to my share of high quality resorts and this one is right at the top.
Botanika is magical. Luxury in the jungle. We had monkeys swinging over our heads. The resort is beautiful and the design is top notch. The service is all around 5 stars! The food is exquisite! Jose is the head chef and he creates wonderful dishes at the restaurant and at the pool bar. Thank you for such a wonderful time!
My father and I stayed here a total of 4 days, 3 nights and I cannot say enough about how excellent this resort is. The staff, grounds, room, service, food and personal touches given by Olympia, the Team Mama with her home made cookies, are all some of the best I've had the privilege of experiencing. You have multiple options for day excursions, including fishing off and inshore, exploring the grounds where you easily see parrots, macaws and other wildlife, day trips to Matapalo Beach further south and a 2-3km hike to a King Louis falls. They have a full size gym that's open 24hrs a day, access to spas, beautiful pool with grill/bar attached. Botanika is a small, intimate, gem of a resort that I cannot compliment enough.
We stayed at the Botanika for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay immensely. The rooms are well air conditioned and immaculately clean. The jungle side infinity pool was fantastic, and even better in the rain! The restaurants on site have great food, and exceed anything you'll find in town. But the real gem here is the people. Every single staff member we met is so friendly and courteous, and they try so hard to get you whatever your heart desires. The only downside was the lack of wildlife in this location. We chose the Osa Peninsula hoping to be surrounded by various creatures, but only saw birds, lizards, and butterflies. Where are the monkeys, sloths ant tapirs? We did hear the frogs during dinner, but never saw any They are still doing some construction on building 3, but we were given a room in building 1 and barely noticed it, even from the pool area. It didn't detract from our stay at all, and I can't wait to see this place when it's finished. Rooms: Rooms are spacious and immaculate cleaned. Air Conditioning is on high so it's a nice escape from the heat outdoors. Nearby activities: All the activities you'll do are either with the resort itself, or contracted tour companies. They are all fantastic options. There isn't much else to do in town, at least nothing of the same calibur. Safety: I felt very safe here. The facility is fenced on all sides, and had many staff members near the front entrance. Guest rooms were towards the back of the property. Walkability: The facility itself is very walkable, but walking to town is a little rough. Though possible, it's hot and you need to walk on several dirt roads, as well as roads with no sidewalks. We did this and enjoyed the expedition, but others may prefer to remain on site. Food & drinks: The restaurants here are fantastic. Breakfast and dinner are served at the main restaurant, and Lunch is available at the poolside restaurant. Both have great menus. Lunch is reasonably priced, dinner was a little pricey, but the flavors were fantastic. The dinner portions were larger than I would like, but I suspect they want us to be sure we got our money's worth.
The rooms and grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Staff is beyond accommodating, kind & caring. We could not have asked for more from them. The location was wonderful if you are looking for a family friendly, luxurious stay. We saw a ton of animals. Sloths, howlers, birds, iguanas right on the property. I would highly recommend taking tours with Crocodile Bay. The town is lovely, people very, very kind. We had a wonderful trip!
We stayed at the nearby Beach house but organised to go and spend the afternoon at the Hilton pool. The charge was a minimum spend of $30 per adult. At $5.50 for a can of beer that wasn't hard and the food was nice. The pool is very lovely and the jacuzzi really hot. Very much recommend for the ambience, nature and service.Service: 5/5
Amazing! New and clean rooms. Wonderful staff. Fun activities ‍ The pool and outdoor bar is perfect for a lazy day or returning from an eco tour or fishing with the family. 10/10 would recommendRooms: 5/5
An amazing place to stay in Osa Peninsula area! Brand new luxury rooms/suites with excellent staff! We did experience a couple of issues: For example, the TV and Alarm clock in one of our room did not seem to work possibly some circuit breaker issue, some WiFi issues, and some maintenance-related issues in the outdoor space. But none of the issues bothered us enough to report them! Having a luxury stay with excellent supportive staff at one of the most biodiverse regions in the world was enough for us to ignore all those minor inconveniences! Hope to be back again!
This was a beautiful Hotel/Resort with one of the best work out facilities I have ever seen! Beautiful in every way. Wonderful service, food and swimming facility. Besides the towels at the poolside, they even had sunscreen "50" in case you forgot to bring some with you!Rooms: 5/5
My brother and I just spent a week at Botanika fishing with Crocodile bay. Every aspect of our trip completely exceeded our excpections! Going in, we felt this was a bucket list type trip, but we will be going back many more times!Rooms: 5/5
