Such an amazing place! My son had been here for field trips and loved it, but we went for the first time as a family for their special Halloween event. Clean and family friendly, with tons of interactive elements to keep kids busy. Can't wait to go back again.
This place looked really cool and I wanted to see it. Didn't realize they charged to go through it, thought it was more of a botanical garden. Parking is kinda limited for as busy as they get. Didn't realize it was also geared more for kids. When I seen all the curtain crawlers running around, I had to pass.
Been meaning to go for some time but didn't with COVID. Kids are 6, 8, and 10 and were less than impressed than a toddler/preschooler would have been, but still had a good time. They really liked the Laura Ingalls Wilder area and the music/art area and were entertained for about 2.5 hours. I think it would be nicer for local families who could drop in, read the laminated book they provide and view the accompanying display casually. Honestly, most of the books in the displays I had never heard of and we're fairly well read; many are short children's books, so it would have been better to have gotten a bunch from the library and read them before the visit. Also, for adults, the garden itself doesn't feature many unique plants as a standard botanical garden and there's few labels, although it's well maintained and you can tell they are trying to expand the variety.
The Halloween Trick-or-Treat is an incredible experience. I recommend going once or twice during daylight hours in the days before to get your bearings. This will become a tradition like the Prange’s Windows at Christmas. A wonderful place to take children of all ages To explore.
This Place Is Magical For Children And The Kid At Heart. Each Garden Is Themed Around A Popular Children's Book And Even Has The Stories Available To Read. This Is Definitely A Bucket List Location And Should Definitely Check Out!
What a great children’s garden for adults too. Very nicely laid out well maintained. Winding trails and beautiful landscaping. Highly recommend definitely worth the admission - reduced price tickets if purchased in advance.
This was a very cute place to visit! I would say it's more for younger kids though. I took my 9 year old for something to do and although it was cute, it would probably be a bit boring for some kids above 6/7. We had been just passing through the area and when I googled nearby things to do, bookworm gardens popped up. They have young children's book you can read in the different areas of the park, hence why I would say it's more for younger kids. I'd also definitely recommend trying to find out when they are not busy because when we went, they were quite busy. Other people visiting were quite rude and just seemed to disregard anyone else being around, trying to take pictures, etc. They would just walk and stand in front of you, let their kids take things right out of your child's had that was trying to interact with the garden items for interacting with. They also only had one bathroom available when we went and a lady insisted on using the bathroom along and locking the door for a long extended period, so no one else could go in to use a stall.
Book worm gardens is a near magical place, where books come to life. There are plenty of things to touch and explore, from houses and forts to musical instruments and nature! We've been here many times, with children ranging from 1 to 14, and they always enjoy each moment. I would say that, in general, children 2-7 will get the most fun out of this experience, but other ages are sure to enjoy it too.
A visual treat for young and old alike! The stories represented through the park's exhibits range across tales familiar to all ages, and both the hard and softscaping are breath taking. Just be sure to make an appointment before you go!
We came during the day on a Saturday, even though parking lot was full, it didn't feel crowed on our walk. Not a large selection of flowers blooming, but was is there is set up beautifully. All the areas of the garden are themed to children's books. It was a fun, unique way experience some of the classics like 3 little pigs. With a general addition, you can go around as many times as you. My 5 year has a blast.
