A tried and true family style restaurant with a variety of items on the menu. We stopped there a few times and the restaurant was well attended with people who I can tell are regulars. The waiter knows people by name and it appears he works very hard. They had a good selection of pies.
Excellent little out of the way restaurant. They have a huge menu and you can order western and Chinese cuisine. We had the Monte Cristo with fries and wor wonton soup and a beef dip. The beef dip was delicious. The wor wonton soup was delicious as well. Small is definitely large enough for one, maybe even two people. The Monte Cristo was good but we have had better. Just needed something but we couldn't put our finger on it. Still good though. The staff was sure running because it was packed. We finished off with a chocolate banana cream pie! Whole banana pieces in the pie and the crust was delicious and flakey. Definitely recommend.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner here and were impressed with every aspect of our experience. The food was homemade and delicious roast beef dinner and fish & chips, the service excellent in spite of the server being very busy, and the ambience warm and friendly. The highlight was our chat with the restaurant owner as we settled our bill - a wonderful example of someone passionate about what they do after a long career doing it! My grandson and I were almost too full for dessert but were really glad we gave into temptation for the apple crumble pie that was so delicious!
First time having lunch here today, I was very impressed with the variety on their menu. I wasn't overly hungry and I ordered something from their lighter fares, the price and portion were bang on! Our server was kind and friendly too. Seating is limited so I would recommend making a reservation if you have more than a party of four. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.
Friend told me I had to try Bonnie Martin Restaurant so drove down from Nanaimo and definitely will make it regular stop. Food was awesome fresh hot tasted amazing and portions were generous and very reasonable prices and menu had so many options I didn't know where to start look forward to my next visit! Definitely recommend then again maybe not or we may not get a table. It was very busy.
Waitress was very friendly. The food was terrific. Raymond is very funny. Came to the tabke at the end of the meal to ensure we were all satisfied. Im sorry I waied so long to go there. Great family restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Very friendly restaurant, all aaare welcome. Wheelchair accessibility: The table I was sitting at could accomafate a wheelchair.
Fantastic food. Fresh homemade pies. Really pleased with the meal we had there. My wife had prime rib and I had a turkey club topped off with the chocolate banana cream pie. Super!
Another Chemainus local treasure. Bonnie Martin’s is a warm comfortable restaurant with A great reputation in town for breakfast, hand made war wonton, Chinese food and chicken curry. Today I had lovely golden yolk eggs, shredded fries, and the tastiest gluten-free toast ever, with homemade jam, awesome. And if you didn’t get enough of the jam you can buy it and take it home.
Service was excellent . Did everything they could to accomodate our dietary needs. Friendly waitress. Little mom and pop restaurant. Everything tasted like home made.
Wonderful food, reasonable prices =] We came for twice within our 2 day stay. We drove from Victoria to this lovely place Chemainus , and found this good restaurant ! We didn't plan it! But the food was amazing! And we didn't expect the owner could speak our lovely Cantonese !! It felt like home^^ I would definitely come again.
