Richard Bong State Recreation Area

I didn't take full advantage of the place, but my campsite was obviously well maintained. Navigating the grounds was a breeze, easy in easy out. Has a self registration box.

We go here for the ATV trails. They're fun but are definitely not well kept. It's not that they're in bad shape, but the places they have set up for challenges have been tore up and forgotten about for years. That said, it's still fun. No hills or woods...think of it as 2 race tracks.

It is not beautiful as they described. Mosquitoes everywhere. Don't forget repellents. There is no clean lake to swim don't fool yourself about swim signs to the lake. They had wash rooms near our camp site. But it was crowded. But we were camping so didn’t care about that. Buy lot of fire woods. It was little expensive at camping center. They asked us to stop music around 10. But we had fun until 12 and they came to camp site and asked us to stop politely. We had a nice experience not super one.

I visit this park often for hiking. Very beautiful trails with a mix of scenery. Excellent terrain for trail running.

My family and I love taking day trips from Milwaukee any time of year. There is so much to do here! From camping, to hiking trails, to dirt biking, to swimming, to fishing, to shooting off model rockets...the possibilities are endless! We tried to do our first camping trip at Bong mid November, but it didn't work out in our favor. The cable on our camper snapped and completely ruined our weekend. Thankfully we weren't too far from home. The staff was so sympathetic and supportive while we tried to figure out what we were going to do. They even gave us a refund for part of our stay. I would highly recommend this park for everything. It's one of the best!
