Pros: Excellent food, the building seems heritage, complete with tin ceiling. The food was fantastic! Cons: The table and chairs are very dated and more suited to a greasy spoon restaurant. There's too much on the menu for a small restaurant like this. I recommend 3-4 specialties in each category, with others reserved for daily or weekly specials. PS the fish haddock and chips were fabulous and I'll be back to try the curry.
Looking for a local place open on a Monday. Boy did we stumble on a winner. My husband had the Montreal smoked meat sandwich and said even the fries were good. I had the shrimp curry, exceptionally wonderful!! Definitely recommend this place
Was expecting very average food after walking in on a Monday at 2:30pm. However! Had THE best seafood chowder I have ever tasted and an excellent Caprese salad with steak. Quality of the food was far beyond what I expected. Decor is quite aged and bland but don’t let that put you off. Huge menu, very fair prices - looking forward to trying other things next time.
Steak and Lobster Dinner! well cooked tender steak, lobster was a bit on the under cooked and tasteless side, fries were crispy overall good food. Chef needs to throw in a unique touch to this dish, and no sauce on the side doesn't count . I usually get the wings here and because of that I give this place a 4 star
Unfortunately they seem to have changed ownership and the wonderful food that was there before is not anymore. The steak was thin and overcooked and the service was incredibly slow. It took so long for the food to come that we almost got up and left. There was only one person working in the entire restaurant. We really liked this restaurant when we went there before but now will not be going back.
Brought our 19 month old twins for a quick bite to eat on the way home. Found this gem. Very good prices and extremely good food. We will be back.
Nice desert!! Spent $85 for calamari, two chicken pasta, pictured desert, and iced tea out of the can. No music--just the generic waiting room tv playing. Feels more like a sports bar. I believe there's a bar towards the back and they're open later! Excellent waiter and friendly. Edit: Tried again for Covid takeout. $15 Lamb burgers come with kraft singles and unseasoned meat. $8 Crab cakes were fresh but bland? $6.50 Creme Brulee was again phenomenal. Again, I didn't find the value worthwhile. The quality of the food and ingredients did not meet the price. Can't recommend the place yet, but perhaps I'm just trying all the wrong foods for this place.
One of the best places in Ontario for Italian food. The price for this quality of food is unbeatable. Everything is freshly made.Food: 5/5
We thought we'd support local during C-19 for a Friday night pick-up order but we were disappointed - again. The 20 minute wait time was reasonable, but we didn't feel we needed to 'check' our order at the time of pick-up or we would have left it there! We opened our two orders of halibut fish & chips to find them both overcooked & char-burnt in spots! Along with the typical, boring, from-frozen double-cooked fries... We are surprised that there's no thought to offering hand-cut fries from a classic cuisine bistro! The fish was so over-cooked that it was tough to cut it with a knife! A slice of lemon, not a wedge, and dill pickle-juiced tartar. We ate it anyway as we didn't want to bother having to drive elsewhere and it was going on 7pm. Their advertised price of $16.95 for halibut fish & chips was definitely not worth it. This was probably the worst fish & chips we have *ever* had.
The best food we have had in a long time! The calzone my husband ordered was bigger than his plate! My lamb burger was unreal cooked to perfection and the bun was sooo fresh. We had the cheesecake for dessert and it was also amazing! Nothing better than a hole In the wall restaurant like this!
