Came through here tonight (Christmas day) looking for a place that was open, the freeway was y closed and we were stuck. found this place. My wife and i didn't know what to expect but as soon as we walked in we were greeted by the bartender, she took our drink order immediately. The bar had about 15 or so customers who seemed to represent a cross-section of the community. A chatty guy came up and introduced himself as "peanut." He told us the place was not completely open (no gambling or kitchen) but he and his wife had made chili and gumbo. He said he knew that some people had no place to go for Christmas so he wanted to make sure they were taken care. Kudos and appreciation from my wife and I.
