Well this was a great surprise. Came to Nantoon to visit family and was told about this museum. And that they have a Lancaster Bomber on site And that the do an engine run from time to time And that's right Friday night engine run it was awesome. I didn't get to see much of the museum but bought some cool souvenirs. I was in awe of the massive engines and the sound. Made me remember the Men and Women who fought for our freedom. Lest we Forget
Absolutely brilliant museum, thoroughly enjoyed walking around the many exhibits, checking out the inside of the Lancaster & absorbing the huge amount of information. The staff were awesome too!
Great little museum, lots to read and learn about history of WW2. Lots of hands on things. Cool planes and engines. Easy to find. Ample parking. Clean bathrooms. Admission is based on donation. Great experience for us! We will come back with my dad!
A great museum. The demonstration of the engines of the Lancaster and the other one on the trailer was phenomenal. The trip through the Lancaster was a great experience. Highly recommended!Visited onWeekendWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNot sure
They started up the engines on rhe Lancaster plane and you could go inside it, had a Snowbird plane that you could sit in plus other planes to look at. Today they honoured the 429 squadron.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The planes they have are great for the everyday visitor or the aviator. Plus you can see & talk with the team actively restoring one. Plus they aren't just sjow pieces but the engines start & run. Tom Cruise would be excited with the rarity & so should you
Decided to take a short afternoon drive from Calgary to explore what the museum had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised at what was compiled for exhibit by the wonderful volunteers. The displays were a mixture of static and interactive that helped you appreciate the harsh reality of the European wars. Plan to spend 2-3 hours to go through the exhibits.
Passed here many times. We spend a happy afternoon in the museum . Learning about aircrafts and people who honor the country . It's nice site for family too .
Learned a lot of history in this place...was lucky to talk to a guy who happens to be a former director of this museum. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and showing us around. Greatly appreciated!
We saw it from the road and decided to stop as we were passing through. They have a great display of planes and some nice interactive displays as well. Definitely worth the stop!
