Bois de L'equerre, French for Forest of the square (as in the carpentry tool) is a nature park with free parking and walking trails that welcomes dog owners (keep your dog on a leash) and includes nicely maintained trails through wooded areas. Walking trails are between 400 meters to 4 Km. There is a small network of flat, easily traversed walking trails and with some presenting a bit more challenges, and may include some muddier terrain and some slight inclines and having to negotiate around branches, rocks, etc... It is a wonderful little piece of natural heaven in the heart of the city of Laval. Within a few minutes of much of the Chomedey industrial park, it is a little hidden gem which is great for the worker bagging it for lunch and is looking for a special place to commune with nature while enjoying their sandwich. The park also features organized nature interpretation walks, has a covered picnic table area and descriptive panels (French only) with information on different animal and vegetation found in the park.

Small woods where dogs are allowed. Parking available and not too crowded. Lots of mosquitos in summer.
