The Unaddressed Problem

Many health professionals have ignored the importance of an entire physiological system, the fascial system, which significantly influences all other structures of the body. This glaring omission has severely restricted your ability to relieve your symptoms and to heal. Injury and inflammatory responses create fascial restrictions that can produce crushing tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in any of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, MRI’s, CAT scans, electromyography, etc.) This enormous pressure acts like a “vise clamp” on muscles, nerves, blood vessels and bones producing the symptoms of pain, headaches and restriction of motion. The medical approach is to medicate patients so they temporarily are free from pain, but it does nothing about the “vise clamp” of pressure that is the CAUSE. Traditional physical, occupational, and massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic and other forms of therapy often focus their efforts to treat the SYMPTOMS caused by the “vise clamp” effect of a restricted myofascial system, but do nothing about the “vise clamp” of pressure that causes and perpetuates the symptoms. This is why so many patients have only temporary results and never seem to get better with traditional therapy.


The difference of BODY WORK
Our form of therapy treats the myofascia and fascial system, eliminating the pressure caused by the restrictions (the vise clamp) that creates the symptoms. We seek to create “space” in the soft tissue structures of the body by loosening the connective tissue. This creates a physical and physiological change in the tissue than can be FELT and a difference can often be SEEN. Along with SIGNIFICANT effects are often felt following the first treatment, subsequent treatments will only perpetuate the healing your body is capable of.

Mission Statement
Body Works mission is to search for and address, through unique treatment methods, the root cause of each client's muscular pain, in order to give the body the opportunity to heal itself. Each session will be personalized to the individual client's needs. We believe health is a multi-dimensional system. We seek to educate the client about their body and health and suggest methods of self-care to improve well-being. We will always strive to provide the client with better service than they expect from a healthcare provider.


Consultations
Consultations are an interactive process designed to individualize a treatment plan for each specific client. Treatment plans are designed based on client perceptions of their pain or physical limitations over the past few months prior to the first visit, and work toward several short-term goals and a long-term goal that the client and therapist can agree on.
