The time that I went with my family I did not have a very good dining experience. It took over 40 minutes to get our food and we were the 2nd group that arrived when they opened. The hostess seem to really have a rude manner. The waitress tried her best to help us. Overall the food was good. The speed of the service was not very good being a sushi place. Overall I would not recommend this place for dinner but for lunch I have had good experiences so go for lunch!
Went for lunch on sat…didn’t realise their amazing lunch special is only during the weekday. Regardless we still ordered the Chirashi bowls. The bowls are amazing, filled so big fat pieces of delicious fish, including yellowtail, tuna, white tuna, salmon….and offer white or black rice. Would definitely come back again for the Chirashi bowl.
Blufish Sushi Restaurant is hands down our favorite sushi place! We've been loyal customers for years, both for dine-in and delivery, and we have never been disappointed. Their supreme combination of sashimi, sushi, and maki is our go-to order, and it's an amazing deal for the money. We also highly recommend the crab cake, black dragon maki, and unagi - but honestly, everything we've tried on the menu has been fantastic. The atmosphere is great too, with a sleek and modern decor that makes for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. The staff is always nice. Overall, we cannot recommend Blufish Sushi Restaurant enough! It's a must-visit for sushi lovers in the area, and we're looking forward to many more delicious meals there in the future.
Wow, Wow, Wow. For the last 3 months, I have dined here at least 7 times with family and friends all very happy and leaving with full bellies of nice quality foods. Having experienced both the lunch specials along with the rolls and even dinner entrees, you truly can’t go wrong with someplace like Blufish. The lunch special is for sure a standout served Monday - Friday with items being around 20 bucks after tax. In my opinion, great deal!! Not only do you get the main, but you also get a spicy tuna roll, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken with soup or salad. Everything is pretty good on the lunch with my only critique that the entree meat is on the smaller side. It is though made up by the quantity of items served with. My only other ask is if we can get the recipe for the dressing?! From all the Japanese restaurants we have tried in the Chicagoland area, their dressing is by far a favorite of ours. We have tried a few of the rolls but they are just okay. Not one has completely stood out to us, but it is possible we just aren’t ordering good ones. Dragons were nice but the mozzarella one was a little off putting as the cheese wasn’t melted. As for the best quality item to get here is always the sashimi lunch / dinner. The raw fish always tastes super fresh and for a good price you get so many pieces. I do wish sometimes I knew what I was eating : BluFish is located in strip mall with ample parking and outdoor seating. Generally, services has always been good for the served, but the bartender is a huge standout. My only negative experience would be from the host who was quite off putting on a Saturday afternoon. There are more positive ways to greet guests and she did not do that. The restaurant was also empty at that time and I don’t think having a small quiet puppy in its carrier is an issue… All in all it’s a nice place. Best of the 4 locations I believe that they have. Check them out! Grade : A
I always ordered takeout from bluefish during the 2020 pandemic and we decided to dine in for our two year anniversary it was absolutely wonderful. The fish is super fresh it doesn’t taste fishy at all. The decor is beautiful! I love all of the lights they have hanging the plants they have decorated it just looks so nice! The ocean drive and dirty old man were so good!
Loved our dinner here. We were promptly seated right away made a reservation. It was busy here a Friday night at 530 - definitely would recommend making reservations in advance. The decor is beautiful and music is fun but not too loud, so it’s good for conversing. You can tell they pay careful attention to their soup/salad — both were quality. Nigiri/sashimi was super fresh and the roll we got was delicious red dragon. Other rolls looked really interesting - more so than your standard roll selection. Service was excellent as well. My dad was super happy with his chirashi and he’s so picky about that. Outside of downtown Chicago, if you’re wanting quality sushi in the NW burbs, I would recommend to come here. Will definitely return!!!
They gave me pork gyoza instead of veggies and it ruined our appetite altogether. Instead of offering a complete refund, they acted like we inconvenienced them. Our family is vegan so it was disgusting to receive an order of pork of all meats. Not professional. $40+ wasted.
Food is good. Carryout has been consistently sloppy throughout pandemic. Poor cuts on rolls, uneven. Patron from day 1. Sometimes places get bigger and popular, and some services go down. Some of staff is not as welcoming and friendly as in the past.
My go to sushi spot in the neighborhood, all day every time! Not only because the sushi is good, but also because they have one of the best whiskey bars around. Choices are solid and tasty. Mix your sushi with some bourbon and the angels will envy you we did some uni shooters today, custom style, whiskey based. We used Monkey Shoulder and the uni was fresh and buttery. Another home run lunch. That’s it, siesta time!
Great server Lawrence and Collin spelling? The general manager pulled out the red carpet for us. I have never had a more consistent and delicious appetizer than the truffle salmon dish. Local favorite. Also their local punk drink is to die for.
