Story

Vast menu, offering the best in traditional American fare, Italian, and Mediterranean dishes. Also well known for our Broiled Seafood selections, Hand-Breaded Fish w/ Macaroni and Cheese, Hand Breaded Fried Clam Strips, and signature Greek Dishes. A variety of specials are also made by our Chef daily. All soups, sauces, gravies, are made on premises daily. Full bakery also on premises featuring cakes, pies, flavored cheesecakes and other pastries. Winner of several first place awards for our Cheesecake, hence the name "Blue Ribbon"! Newly renovated state of the art kitchen. Recently remodeled exterior, including spacious lobby with automatic doorways for easy handicap accessibility. Ample parking. Four entryways provide easy access to premises. Total restaurant capacity 220. We can accomodate large parties. Reserveration not required but recommended for parties of 6 or more. Fast and friendly service is our forte, please come and see for yourself!

Blue Ribbon Restaurant is the "BEST" Restaurant/Diner in Schenectady, NY. Their Breakfast is on point...nothing to complain about. Their lunch and dinner menus are good, nice variety of menu items to choose from. In my opinion people go to Blue Ribbon for one reason, the Amazing Desserts. Their Plain Cheesecake and Pumpkin Cheesecake is worth killing someone for a slice. Forget the regular food and just order from their dessert menu and your leave the place happy.

This is a nice, down-home place for breakfast. I was with a group of people that had grown up in the area and expressed their love of Blue Ribbon's big meals and local fare. Yes, the plates were big, but I found the food a tad bland. I had scrambled eggs and hash, both had little character. I mean, it was decent, just no flare. Coffee was good though and the waitress was a delight. Always there with a drink refresh and checking in with a smile and a joke. I appreciated her service most of all :)

I just had a dinner at blue ribbon. Great meal the waiter was so friendly. Highly recommended if you want to get a stomach full and without breaking the bank. Thanks

This family diner is a popular spot for many Schenectady residents, a local favorite for those without a wallet bursting forth with cash. For an out-of-towner though this location is not really worth the drive, as you could probably find a diner that is closer. The interior is simple and very American, with a feeling of a place your grandmother might have enjoyed. For someone born in the 1980's though, the ascetics did nothing for me. My party took our seats in one of the many available booths near the fort of the restaurant, and looking around it seemed to me this was definitely a casual event sort of place. You won't find any business men in suits, or romantic dates being held here. 3/5 stars for the ambience. We placed out orders around 7:00pm, being served a free helping of bread rolls and butter, which I suppose are nice for breakfast but as a dinner meal this melt out of place. It was good that they were served though, as we ended up waiting close to 30 minutes for our orders to arrive. 3/5 stars for the service. I myself had ordered the Blue Ribbon Burger, a house staple, which was very pleasing. The onion rings that came as the side however had an off putting tobacco flavor I could't get past. 3/5 stars for the meal. Overall an average diner with average service and average food, nothing to shake a stick at but don't bother driving if it takes you more than 30 minutes to get here.
