Definitely one of the best restaurants in all of Vernon County. I went there to eat with family and the food, drinks, and service were phenomenal. Our server Barb was super friendly and made excellent menu suggestions. I ordered a drink called "The Lily Rose". It was amazingly good, not to sweet and very refreshing, and had a rose shape ice cube in the glass. I ordered some appetizers and would highly suggest anything with truffle on it. For my entrée I ordered the Cod with fries. It was sooo good. If you are looking for a fantastic meal, with quality service and a cozy atmosphere, then I really can't recommend KOS enough. 5 stars all around and in the heart of Westby. Definitely a new local gem.
Memorable dining happens at KOS - delicious housemade dishes, five star service, upbeat atmosphere, it's upscale dinning without pretense, a perfect place to go and be yourself. Writing this review is making me hungry -- our [executive] lunch included GOAT CHEESE TRUFFLES, seasonal BLUEBERRY SALAD, BOURBON BURGER, FISH TACOS, CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE AND APPLE CRISP. Every dish had thoughtful flavor combinations, it required full discipline to make time for some photos before devouring. So much magic goes into every aspect of KOS, I cannot recommend enough!
The waitstaff are very helpful, recommending drinks and helping us decide on appetizers and entrees. The food is excellent - we are so lucky to have some amazing dining options in Westby and Viroqua! We've been here several times and sampled many of the menu options and have not been disappointed! See creedtv's review, I completely agree. I had the Lily Rose too - delicious!
Food was delicious, a little expensive but worth it. Walley was a bit thin for the blackened seasoning but overall very good!
It's been about 8 months since our last evening at Kos, and we've really missed it! The food was amazing as always. Please, get the goat cheese truffles when you eat here! While you relax and enjoy your cocktail, look around at the lighting and artwork! The atmosphere is like nothing ever offered in Westby before. It's gorgeous! The staff and owners are so gracious they make your dining an experience, not just a night out. Kos never disappoints. Kid-friendliness: There are child approved meals on the menu. Parking: Kos is on a side street in Westby and there is plenty of street parking. Wheelchair accessibility: They have built a wheelchair ramp up the the front door and there are no steps inside. Dietary restrictions: The menu has options for all needs
We stopped for their dessert. KOS was sharing the proceeds with our local Humane Society. The cheesecake was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Our food during lunch was excellent, so good in fact we invited a guest for dinner the next night. Lunch every item was perfect, dinner unfortunately was about 80% with over fried tomatoes, blue cheese dressing missing those chunks that were so good at Lunch. Blackened catfish was very tasty but a little Medium rare on the thick end. New York was good, a bit small for a $40 steak, really rare, not Medium rare. Not a problem for me but most would complain. Still one of the best meals I have had in this area by far. Strongly recommend this place to anyone, we eat all over the world.
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at KOS. It was our first visit but will not be our last. We live in Madison and got a reservation since we would be driving through Westby. The food is wonderful and the service is first-rate. We are anxious and excited to try more of the menu.
I got a pickle pizza tonight at Kos it was awesome. They will only have it today and tomorrow. But they always have terrific food.
We had appetizers, a few drinks, steak and fish a Friday night in December. This restaurant was wayyyy overpriced even for this volatile market! and the owner staff were not very friendly. I don’t care enough for the “organic stamp” to pay 4X what something is actually worth. In the restaurant business, taste and atmosphere are king. This place had an elitist sort of vibe to it. We sat by the front door of the restaurant and kept getting blasted by freezing cold in spite of this chintzy curtain that was there to block the draft. We won’t be returning.
