Fabulous Diner & Abigal great server.. Has old style nostalgia with great food. We got 2 draft beers, Hubby ordered Shepards pie with cole slaw, I got Lobster roll with house salad. I would say best priced in Maine right now and is just YUM! $25.99... the place was packed at 3:00 in the afternoon. Total bill was under $50.00. Would totally recommend has traditional diner menu..
Enjoyed the ambiance and food here. I had stuffed shells and they were simple but very good and came with meatballs. Nice gooey cheese and large portion. My mom loved her lobster roll which came with butter instead of mayo. Lots of fresh lobster and reasonable price. Service was very good. Parking is easy. Place was very clean. Great place to stop for a decent variety of diner food.
The decor is definitely outdated but it's part of the theme. The plate ware certainly was a blast from the past, it felt like being back at my grandmother's or great aunt's for Sunday dinner seeing those plates. The service was wonderful, our server Leonard was very attentive and took great care of us. He was great at answering any of our questions as well. Our food came out fairly quickly considering my husband got the baked haddock, well worth the wait! The haddock was topped with Ritz cracker and my husband said it was amazing. My lobster roll was the size of my forearm which I did not expect, usually the lobster rolls I've had are much smaller. It was warm, the bun was toasted and buttered perfectly. The lobster was delicious and flaky, not at all chewy. Leonard went above and beyond and got me some lemon for my roll as well which I really appreciated. The pickles there were also really delicious, nice crunch and a little sour. The coleslaw was tasty and not soggy. We will definitely be making this a regular stop for us anytime we are in Maine!
Nice diner but unfortunately compared to the numerous positive reviews, we must have visited on an off day. Our party waited about an hour and a half for our food. The table next to us received their entrees much faster despite sitting down ~45 minutes after we did. Appetizers came out very sporadically, some were cold, a few items were messed up, and the diner seemed understaffed in general.
An OK diner, if you have no other breakfast choices. The food is stunningly average. Nothing is unique. The service is really hit or miss. The decor is solidly in the uncanny valley of "diner style". It feels more fake than it should. There are significantly better breakfast choices in the area with better food and atmosphere. You can make everything here better at home.
This gem was just what my friend and I were looking for after a stressful post op appointment in Portland. Sunny, friendly, and inviting, right down to the red stools at the counter and inviting booths. The blueberry pancakes with the real maple syrup option were amazing. And the bacon, crispy, was delicious! I will definitely go back there, and I highly recommend!
My husband and I decided to stop by for a quick dinner. The atmosphere was great, the service was great, the food, not so much. There was nothing special about any of the food. Most of what we got was quite bland, and I believe, frozen in origin. I was a little disappointed, just because it is diner food does not mean it can't be good. My chicken ceasar wrap said "grilled chicken" on the menu description, grilled when, two days ago? The chicken was ice cold and extremely bland, there was not much of it in the wrap either, though this may have been a blessing in this case. I was glad that I asked for extra dressing on the side, because I needed it badly. My husband ordered a burger that tasted as premade as it looked, and because he ordered a "cheeseburger" came with nothing at all on it or with it. He had to ask for condiments, except the ketchup which was on the table, and assemble the burger himself after asking for lettuce and tomato. On a more postitive note, our waitress was polite, attentive and pleasant. She managed to be available without hovering, which I always appreciate. She did a really good job. It was too bad to see the lackluster food, the place has great potential, maybe someone should teach them how to season their food.
Loved it here! The decor was impeccable! The attitude of the waitress was the best human behavior has to offer. With just 15 minutes to go before closing time, Kate Katherine didn't panic or complain when 13 people arrived after church. She was the only waitress there on 6/24/2018. She took all 13 orders with the grace and courage of a person twice her age without flinching. We were extremely impressed. The burgers were fantastic, but the most impressive aspect that we noticed here was the impeccable service. Kate, you are great!
The food is amazing here ! I had so much fun here with my family the place is awesome I loved everything about it the waitress was so kind and they all followed the protocol for COVID 19 loved it !
The waitress had a smile on her face when she greeted us. Very clean place and the food was delicious. I had the chicken sandwich with the fries. Had to finish it off a brownie Sunday mmmm good.
