We took the "Mini Cabot Trail" tour of Cape Breton as a shore excursion while on a cruise. We booked directly, not through the cruise line. It was definitely a highlight of our entire 10-day trip! Our guide and our driver Bob and Frannie were just great! They were both very experienced - as drivers, guides and local residents - and provided a fun, relaxed and very personalized tour. The bus held about 20 or so people and our group of 6 was very comfortable. Bob made interesting comments throughout the tour but also knew when to be quiet and just let us enjoy the beautiful scenery. That is a rare and valuable skill as we later learned from taking other tours on this trip! Also, his civic pride in both Cape Breton and Sydney were evident and made us enjoy and appreciate not only the natural beauty, but also the people and community as well. Would highly recommend!!!
