Great little restaurant with good food and excellent service. Multiple locals recommended it to us as the best in town and I can easily see why. We had a lobster roll, which was good, served with very good fries, and the seafood fettuccine, which was very good with a nice assortment of seafood. Also had a salad to start, which was fresh and well dressed.
Awesome chicken panini sandwich.that they easily modified it for my dietary restrictions. I had it with the whiskey soaked bacon and homemade aoli on it instead red pepper and bacon jam and fries on the side. Did I mention it was awesome! My husband had the tacos and Caesar salad. Great too!
We had a fantastic time here when we visited in June. We started with the mussels, which were delicious in a wine & garlic cream sauce, and I had the seafood fettucine, which had a similar flavor and was also wonderful. We were debating on a white wine, and the server who we later learned was one of the owners brought us some to try before we decided on a bottle which was great. We were there until closing but didn't feel rushed at all, and we had a great conversation with one of the owners. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
Highly recommend, great food, clean, friendly staff. Would have been five stars except no music on the patio, hopefully next time. Thx BlackRock Bistro!
I enjoyed the food so much, that I went there 2x during my stay in Parrsboro. The first night I had the chicken panini which was super moist and delicious! It had bacon jam in it and that just gave it that extra yumminess. The second day I had the Drunken Sailor Burger, which has won a burger award and rightfully so. I asked for caramelized onions instead of regular fresh onions and was accommodated. The service was excellent both days I went. The restaurant owners are part of the family that runs the Sunshine Inn which I recommend staying at and reviewed in another post.
Food was great. Service was awesome. The waitress/manager was on her own, with staff shortages and she was amazing, ensured everyone had great, timely service
Delightful place with excellent food. Heritage building, dating back to 1800s. We just had a snack of cheese platter with fruits. Cheese was a great variety from Dutchman cheese, well presented. It's a great place to throw beer on the ground.
Today being my birthday we decided to take a day trip to Parrsboro for a picnic and a hike. After our hike we were looking for a good local place that serves good quality food. Recently I have had to change my diet which has made it very difficult to eat out as I am now following a gluten free, dairy free, wheat free diet. Our waitress Sara, was super helpful and knew the menu inside and out. She provided me my options, and I opted for the lamb burger with a gluten free bun, and a side house salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. My wife had a curry halibut Thai dish I forget the name, and my daughter had Classic Bolognese Spaghetti. In addition I would like to add that as expected in a Bistro, the service was super fast even though they were booked solid. Quite honestly since I have changed my diet, this was the first "real flavorful" meal that I have had which was extremely refreshing. My burger was bursting with flavour and the salad was second to none. Both my wife and daughter also really loved their dishes, so for me this is an easy 5 star rating. My compliments to the waitress and the Chef who was willing alter their dish to suit my dietary needs. I look forward to returning soon! Thanks again, and keep up the great work! PS: If you have tried this place, you will not regret it. I highly recommend it if your in the Parrsboro area, but don't forget to call ahead as you will need to make reservations.
I've tried to come to this restaurant in the summer months but everytime it was packed. I now understand why. The food is phenomenal! I tried the Dutchman's burger. Current aesthetic, small cozy dining room, friendly server.Food: 5/5
AAA+ Excellent customer service and well made food. The house cut fries sourced from 1 hour away in PEI tasted full flavoured and nutritious. The perfectly made halibut was locally sourced fresh and not frozen. The house made mayo and tarter sauce was a perfect addition to my awesome gluten-free fish and chips. Drinks on tap are cold served in a glass cup the shape of a beer can, so thirst quenching. The locally sourced blueberries loaded in the cheesecake sauce was amazing. Nice selection of teas. I would definitely be adding this place to my favourite list of places to eat again. 6/5 stars Kid-friendliness: They were able to accommodate spaghetti noodles and butter with parmesan cheese for my son. He ate all of his dish. Dietary restrictions: They offer a good variety of well made gluten-free food.
