"Our 16th century Public House is situated on Lime Street in the parish of Eldersfield near Gloucester. The Butchers Arms is first and foremost a rural pub, where the bar is the hub of life, with low ceilings, wooden floors, roaring fires and real ale served straight from the cask.We are the Block family. My husband Mark is the chef and I Jo-Anne run front of house. We have two daughters, Audrey and Jasmine. We serve high quality seasonal British food using only the best suppliers. Our menu constantly changes in accordance to the seasons."

Lovely country pub, excellent food and lovely atmosphere. More a restaurant than a pub vibe per se, you wouldn’t go just for a drink although the wine list is excellent!. They also did their best to accommodate dairy-free requirements for my husband which was really lovely of them. Well worth a visit, and ample parking space at the back is helpful too!
A seriously magnificent pub. Beautiful outside and in, plus probably the best food I've eaten in a pub. Fantastic consistency, charming homely service and clearly so much attention to detail - I would 100% recommend and if possible will definitely return. Veal sweetbreads a particular highlight although everything was exquisite, they were perfect. Thanks so much for creating the way you do, it's a credit to the industry.
Really enjoyed our time here. Beautiful country pub with matching countryside. Food was perfectly cooked from locally sourced produce. The family who run the pub were friendly and service was excellent.
The food was great, the portions were a good size too and the place is very quaint. We sat out in the back overlooking the garden. Didn't have room for dessert, but the Parkin Cake looked good!
We went to The Butchers Arms for the first time in October 2020 so there were covid restrictions in place. The waitress wore a face mask and the number of tables was restricted. We went on a Sunday and for starters we had salmon and also salted cod scotch egg. The scotch egg was amazing, and the presentation of them all were amazing. For main we had pork, venison, monkfish curry and fillet steak. The venison was very nice and I would recommend it. It was very quick service. We were booked in for 12:30 and we had paid the bill by 1:40. There is a large carpark at the rear and a nice garden area at the front. I specifically came to this place as I knew it had won a couple of awards. I would recommend people try this place. The food is great!
Great little pub/restaurant. Not your typical country pub. Great service and friendly atmosphere. The food was fantastic, not had anything as good for a long long time. Was pricey for the food, but was worth every penny. You certainly get what you pay for here. Some great beer, cider and ale on tap, and varied wine selection. Will be visiting again for sure.
Charming countryside pub with friendly, welcoming, efficient staff and really delicious food. It was our 2nd visit, and we'll definitely go again.Food: 5/5
Very good,, friendly staff warm welcome and the real ale was the best it could be we haven't eaten yet but will return to do so xxService: 5/5
Wow, what a really lovely pub. Granted, we hit the jackpot by booking for a Sunday lunchtime on a glorious day. But I suspect come rain or shine this place is a gem and easily deserves its accolades. We booked ourselves in for a 1300 lunch, and on arriving were greeted very warmly and shown to our little corner table. The wines were very nice, but the star for me was the weekly ale which was bang on the money, and after a couple of superb starters we were treated to almost a mountain of perfectly cooked and I mean this chateaubriand. I haven't had such well cooked steak anywhere before, ever. So thank you to all the staff, and Jo-Anne for being the perfect hostess, and the her talented husband Mark for cooking for us. Anytime I can be back, I will be back, sublime way to end a special weekend.
Exquisite food and friendly service. A definite recommendation but make sure you book
