We went here during a hockey tournament. We had about 25 people in our group and most of them were older teen boys. The staff were friendly and very well organized. The portions were very generous and the food was great. We liked it so much the team went back for lunch the next day. I would recommend this place for sure!
The reason I picked the Black Bull Restaurant was because of the great reviews from other hockey teams. As a result, I chose to have my Midget hockey team dine here. I was very impressed when Alex called me back to discuss my booking. The on-line ordering system worked fantastic, plus, any dietary restrictions were on point. Also, Alex had great communication to verify the orders. When I got to the restaurant, Alex and his wife, Anita plus the rest of the staff were very welcoming and obliging. Alex met the timeline for when the food would be served. Our group of +40 were out within 1.5 hours - talk about great service. Thank you, again, for this great dining experience for my group last night.
I brought a group of students who were in my college class for a final class meal. Alex and the gang offered us a great spot upstairs and the food was exceptional. Incredibly quick, very tasty and great priced. It was a great experience and a location that we will easily be back at. Thanks for the great service.
We where hungry. We searched for the best restuarant in three hills. We read reviews, which where generally good. Except for the person with 35 hockey kids, but that's another matter. Our first impression, the place was very busy which was positive. The interior was well decorated, the competant waitress was nice, she didn't mind my closing the window curtain. My husband implied that some of patrons there was coming from church. I think he was right. The demographic is older and wholesome. We ordered. The menu is expansive with many appealing options. While neither me or my husband are senior or children, the children and senior menu offered good half size portions.
Terrible service and food was not great!!!! We had bacon eggs hash browns My husband had that along with sausages Said they were the worst he had ever had. My bacon taste like it was deep fried in old oil My daughter in law never got a pop refill the whole time she sat there! My grandson had the chicken strips and fries. I could understand if ur waitress was busy but there was us and another table. She was not very friendly at all!
We were in Three Hills recently for a bantam hockey tournament. Alex was exceptional at communicating via phone, email and text to help us provide our orders. We actually dined there on both the Friday and Saturday evenings after games. Because we pre-ordered, they were able to offer the full menu to all 36 of us. No one got antsy because we could just sit down, order our drinks, socialize, and the food was served in a reasonable amount of time. The staff was friendly and efficient - how nice to be on a first-name basis! Payment was straightforward because each family ordered under their player's jersey number. I would definitely book a team party here again because Alex and his staff made it such a positive experience!
The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere cozy. Only giving it 4 stars because my Greek meal left s little to be desired. Although the chicken breast was perfect! Will definitely return and try what all my neighbours were having.
My husband and I LOVE the Black Bull. It’s our go to if we ourselves want a nice dinner out or when we have friends or family in town. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in Three Hills but we go here for a reason. Excellent service, excellent food and great atmosphere. I am a city girl and I have high expectations when it comes to dining out. We haven’t been disappointed yet. Keep up the great work!
Was there for a Christmas party in March yes and had some fantastic food. The crab didn't taste as flavourful as I'm used to, but the rest of the meal was amazing. Started with some stuffed mushrooms and had their veal Neptune for a main. It was really good. Will most likely head there again
RUDE OWNER, BURNT/OVERCOOKED FOOD, SLOW SERVICE I visited the Black Bull Steak House this evening to celebrate Mother's Day with my family, we arrived at our reservation on time and waited patiently for our meal that took 2 hours to be served to us. Upon the arrival of our food the steak I had ordered to be done medium-well came out to me looking like a piece of burnt beef jerky! While my mother, had ordered steak and lobster for her special day received what seemed to be chewing gum as lobster. Being disgusted with the food I was served I prompted the waitress over to inspect our meals she suggested that I speak directly to the owner/cook. While speaking to the owner about the disgust in lack of service and over cooked food he was not only arrogant and extremely rude but was in complete denial that anything was wrong with the food. He explained to me that they had been extremely busy throughout the night, which I had understood, and that I was to simply not expect good quality of food when it was that busy. I suggested if I could have a discount on the bill due to us already spending a large amount on the food and nobody ate more than 1/4 of their meal and he told me that he would take $2 off of the meals which were priced at $25 and $36 with no apology. He explained he could not cook a steak to medium - well standard and was very rude about the entire situation not being apologetic or understanding at all. The steak I received looked like it had been sitting on the BBQ for 2 hours and became so rock hard that it could not be cut through. What a disappointing Mother's Day. I was so embarrassed to take my mother, grandmother and sister there I will never eat here again. I am so disgusted with the service I have received from the OWNER of all people! P.S- If you can't cook a steak to medium-well then maybe you shouldn't own a steakhouse...
