A true gem. So grateful to have the Black Birch so close to us. Last time we were here was 5 years ago. Wonderful to return. Our meal was fantastic and the entire experience was a real delight.
First time! Amazing. Food spoke for itself and best flavours, not "too" anything. Yum. Loved our server, we had such a hoot with her. We will be back. Right by the hockley trails.
Love the Black Birch. Returned for the third time. Sat on the lovely patio. Everyone absolutely loved their meals.
We've driven by this restaurant over the years. Perhaps the shabby exterior deterred us but we finally decided to stop in last Sunday for lunch. All I can say is WOW...unexpected amazing food!! Quality service and exceptional food. Everyone's food was cooked to perfection. My daughters salmon was cooked perfectly, not overcooked, perfectly pink moist centre , with Crispy skin my wife's chicken mushroom crepes were great as well as my quiche. We can't believe we judged this little jem on its outer appearance and it took us so long to go there. Needless to say we will be back, maybe to try the homemade ice creams next time as well as a few more intriguing meals. Don't drive by... Stop in, youll be glad you did.
Great find, my wife and I were up in the area and really had no idea where to eat, so we searched restaurants in the area and The Black Birch came up. Yes the place shows it’s age but it’s part of the charm, the service was great very friendly and the food was quite good. The Caesar salad was ripped by hand as it should be and they used real Parmisan cheese. My wife had the Grilled Salmon, she said it was perfect as was the skin which was removed and set on top she said it’s was very crunchy. I had the lamb chops, they were great cooked just the way I like them, the mash potatoes was very good and so were the veggies they were still crispy. We truly enjoyed our dinner, if we ever end up in the area again which is not to often we’d love to eat there again.
Had a wonderful dinner last night food was excellent. Not our first time but have not been there for two years. Our friends had booked reservation as it was their anniversary. They were unable to go so we decided to keep the reservation and I'm glad we did. There was a duo playing and loved the live music.
Lovely place. Great food. Very quaint. However our server spent way to much time touching my husband. Not the other men at table. We found it very uncomfortable. Always bending in front of him to serve others. We discussed how uncomfortable we both were. We have been here lots of times and enjoy our experiences. Was my birthday dinner. I have no idea what she was doing. Parking: Parking enough for all.
Wonderful food, wonderful time. It's a family run restaurant, and they are really passionate about serving their customers. Above all, it is at a really perfect location of right at exit of the hiking trails of Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Reserve.
Randomly stopped here after a hike at mono cliffs provincial park and I'm so glad we did! Amazing, elevated dining in the middle of nowhere. Cute and cozy patio. The waitress/hostess was amazing, super friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. A hidden gem
Cozy little place with a with a wonderful staff and seating. Diverse menu with. 3 course tasting menu. Chicken and vegetable soup smelled amazing and tasted even better. The lamb shank was so tender and fall off the bone. Dessert cakes were amazing. So much flavour. Not sure if it's made in house but either way, it was great. Will definitely go back.
