An iconic restaurant with quite a long history starring in the CBC series The Beachcombers. It’s now operating as the Black Bean Cafe but the original sign is still prominently displayed… they would be foolish to not take advantage of his history which is so well known. The food was very good.. basic but well done and fresh.nThey also have beer on tap, and baked desserts. I don’t know for sure but suspect they do their own baking staff are super friendly and yes there are slip ups when they get busy but they do their absolute best to make it right if you speak up .. but do it NICELY ! . Their chicken sandwiches are made with real house baked roast chicken! Can’t go wrong with that. The fries are coated with some sort of light flour and super crunchy. They are not greasy.
Welcome Back!! The new owners, Black Bean Coffee, have breathed new life into this Sunshine Coast landmark. It is the only operating restaurant that I know of that has been the star of two television series. We got there about 11:15 and it was already bustling, but by the time we got our food the place was overflowing.
Comfortable place with a lovely view and quaint Canadians history. I had the Relic Burger. It was delicious. It seems very popular with the ferry crowd and with nostalgic visitors. Molly's Reach is exactly what you expect a very good coffee shop to be.nnOrder at the counter, find a table, your food is great when it gets to you.
Yes, I did watch the show as a child. I had no idea that one day I'd find myself living so close to this friendly and picturesque little town.nnHaving breakfast, overlooking the marina, and preparing for a day of sailing, this location is just right. There's a feeling of small town friendliness here. Gibsons is a lovely town, and this cafe reflects all this in a cozy and beautifully Canadian manner. The casual visitor can forget the wider world, enjoy a decent breakfast, and then wander the vintage clothing stores nearby. What a great place.
Mollys Reach... a MUST stop! Yummy Chai Latte and Breakfast BLT with side order of crispy Hashbrowns. Wonderful atmosphere with a beautiful view and trail below to stroll along afterwards in the sunshine!!!
