Amazing! The food was great and the waiter I didn't get his name was superb! He energetically interacted with every table and was just an overall great waiter. The place is nice and cute with great food. I enjoyed what I had, which was the snail stew for an appetizer and the duck for my main. I washed it down with the sangria. All were good. I would recommend this restaurant if you're ever in Old Quebec City.
We travel a good amount, and typically avoid "tourist areas" because the patrons are essentially "captured" due to proximity. This is especially true for cruise ship ports. We were pleasantly surprised by this Bistro. Staff was friendly, the service good, and the food above average. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying themselves, which also helps. I had the fish and chips, an easy favorite. The fish was thick enough about 1.25" to be flaky inside, crusty outside, with a tasty tartar sauce. Fries were similarly crispy. My wife had the French onion soup with garlic bread, both quite well executed.
Great food, service, atmosphere and overall experience. The food is delicious, and well worth the price with a variety of options. I opted to have to appetizers for dinner and my husband had the duck and elk meal and we finished every bite. This is a busy spot so a reservation is recommended.
Best food ! Lovely host, great location and great ambience. No second thoughts. French onion soup and wild boar spring roll for the appetizer. Mushroom ravioli and deer for main course. Every single dish tasted so so good
Amazing service, amazing food. We waited around 40 minutes for a table of 3, but it was worth it. Our waiter was so kind and funny - definitely made our experience better. We ordered 2 appetizers. Shrimp tempura and cream of snail. The shrimp was perfectly crispy and the snails were great with the provided bread. The 3 main courses we got were fish and chips, steak and fries, and mushroom ravioli. The fish and chips were also crispy and the fries were delicious. The steak was average, but very juicy, nothing too special there. If you love mushrooms, definitely get the mushroom ravioli. We ended the night with the maple syrup cake. It was warm and melted in the mouth. If you’re ever in the area, you have to check out this bistro. I would recommend getting a reservation beforehand if you don’t want to wait.
Located in the picturesque, quaint district of Petit Champlain, you can take a stroll before or after enjoying a delicious meal here. Bistro Sous le Fort is an amazing little restaurant that just exudes the warmth and goodness of mom's kitchen with its homey charm. We started out with some buttery snail stew. Lusciously good. For our main dishes, we ordered the sweetbreads; of which I've never had and was curious, but still a little wary. It was remarkable!! Beautifully prepared with the most delightful gravy I've ever had. We also ordered the duck confit dish and it was delightful too. The food was well paced. The service was great. This is a must if you're ever in Old Quebec City.
Great little spot right on the main walking route. Only capacity for maybe 30 seats. We had the two person window table. We had great service, it was warm and cozy. It was New years eve and we were eating later, so this was a late lunch. I had the Wild Boar egg rolls as an Appitizer . . . They were great, hard to describe the taste, similar to roast beef. It came with a little salad which complimented nicely. My wife had the French Onion soup, which seemed to be a house favorite. A little more cheese would have made this even better. For mains we had the Mushroom Ravioli which was great, lots of sauce. I had the Fish and chips, the fish was Cod, very moist and very little batter which is my preference and more creamy salad. It was just what I required before a quick NYE nap. We will be back.
Restaurant was a nice casual but romantic spot. Service was extremely friendly. All the food was great but the French onion soup was a standout! Definitely recommend grabbing a reservation
So good we came back twice! We enjoyed the laid back and romantic atmosphere and Melodie was the best waitress we could have hoped for! Their chef prepares your food to perfection. We had the French onion soup, red deer burger and tasty sangrias at one meal and we loved the deer medallion in blueberry sauce and duck confit with elk sausage at another. You want to save room for their maple cake! Unreal! Merci!
Opted for appetizers entrees and dessert. Shrimp tempura incredible, French onion soup very good flavor. Maple syrup cake decadent and delicious! Service and engaging staff world class!
