Although it took us a while to get a reservation, it was definitely worth the wait. The atmosphere, the service and the food was amazing. The food was very flavourful, fresh and different. You can see they put so much detailing into it. As for the service, the owners are incredibly sweet and work as a team to serve everyone. I truly recommend coming here. We already set our reminders to try to get reservations for my birthday in 2023! I can’t wait to go back.
If you are coming from downtown Montreal it's about an hour away. Food was good, but not amazing. Service was nice and friendly. Spent about two hours for dinner. We did not bring our own wine didn't want to drink. There is a combination offer of one appetizer, one main plate, and dessert or you can order a la carte. The pricing seemed about the same either way, but there were different main options for the combination offer. Personally, I did not think it was worth the drive, but it was a nice adventure. Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly. Parking: No parking available. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible.
This is one of the best restaurants in all of Montreal. The soup was one of the best soups I've ever had. My boyfriend and I shared two meals and they were both spectacular. My family tried all of the deserts and they were all perfect. While this restaurant is on the more expensive side, it is well worth the price and I left there feeling full. I would definitely recommend.
Worth the 2 month wait for our reservation! The food was delicious and presented beautifully, the service was professional, friendly and prompt, and atmosphere is elegant and homey. The sweet potato ginger apple soup was my favorite. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious, but I wish it came with a side of something besides a few vegetables. Seafood risotto was also delicious with a unique dill flavor! Overall, a great experience - I’m already waiting on when I can make another reservation!
The Best BYOW Restaurant in the West Island Thank you for a wonderful take out Valentine's dinner. It was delicious as usual take out or in house dinning. Real delicious food and wonderful people.
It's such a great local restaurant! So cozy, food is excellent and so tasty! We were able to grab a last-minute reservation, and it was such a great night with friends and over some delicious food. CheersFood: 5/5
The food, service, and attention to detail was simply wonderful. Was happy that we were able to bring our own favorite wines. A real treat! Parking: Plenty of parking in their parking lot.
Love this small byow bistro. It was our first time here after hearing so many great things, and they did not disappoint. Service was prompt and amazing and the dishes were not only beautiful, they were delicious. We already made 4 more reservations and look forward to coming back!
Celebrating our 45th anniversary brought us serendipitously to Bistro 1843 in L’ile Brizard purely by chance, and what a celebration it turned out to be. Proprietors Sara and Tarik embrace the mantra ‘smaller is better’, allowing them to oversee every aspect of their establishment which serves as an extension of their family life. The menu is small and seasonal but with enough choices to satisfy their patrons. Tarik, a well-versed chef with classical training orchestrates the kitchen as a one-man-band, beautifully plating exquisitely prepared foods with succulent sauces and accompaniments. Bistro 1843 chose not to offer wine, instead allowing customers to bring their own without any corkage fee. This practice allows you to splurge on really top vintages that would otherwise be exorbitantly too expensive on a wine list. My only regret is that we live so far away, otherwise we would absolutely become ‘one of their family’ and dine there often.
What can I say wow this is one of the best hidden jewels of Montreal gastronomy A must go Rsvp take 3 months but well worth it 6 stars
