Very nice grounds and trails. Check in staff is amazing. Showers are clean with great water pressure. Very large sites in the lower campground. Dump station is set up very well with sewer and water hoses.
First time camping here and stayed at upper loop. Level site for most part and large sites. Didn't have time to utilize the lake but would definitely come back!
We really like camping at Bishop Lake, especially in the Fall. There are lots of walking/hiking trails and the fall colors look amazing around mid-October.Public restrooms: NoOff-leash dog area: NoPicnic tables: Yes
We found this campground to be wonderful! We stayed during the week in mid spring so it wasn't that busy until towards the end of the week. The entire week we had a young cardinal visit our camper windows multiple times throughout the day. That was fun! Bathrooms and showers were clean. We visited the campground prior to pick out larger campsites. Park was very clean and the dump station even had sewer hose there so we didn't have to use our own. Very large beach down the road. We plan on staying here again.
Campsites with electricity. Beach nearby. One lower bathhouse serves lower AND upper campgrounds. Sandhill cranes seen on lower campground near the lake.
Excellent spot to camp, very little bugs was nice. Halloween camping here is amazing and is a must, such a great time.
This is always a great campground, conveniently located between Pinckney and Brighton, but it is especially fun on weekends in October, when they have contests for best site decoration, best costume, best pumpkin, and other holiday activities. Trick or Treating happens every Saturday in October and it is a wonderful time for kids and adults alike. The only challenge is sites book very quickly, you pretty much have to book your site six months in advance, or stalk the site for cancellations. The lake is small, but fun, the bath house is a little dated, but well kept, fire wood is six dollars per bundle, and there are 2 fill/dump stations that move relatively quickly.
I love coming here with my family. Sometimes it's nice to "rough it" for a bit and these camp sites are wonderful. I like how there's a path to the Bishop Lake fishing pier and beach. The restrooms, fire pits and picnic tables are well-maintained. It's close enough to town for a quick grocery trip or even pizza delivery.
Lots to do here, our goal was to ride the nearby rails to trails, just a short drive away. Nice restrooms/showers which we were lucky to have parked nearby, for some could be quite a trek. Nice trails to hike and kayaks, beach with cool water park. Sites a little close but pretty normal for a state park. We were here over busy 4th of July weekend.
Great campground in the area! Electrical at each site and periodic public water access faucets. Sites were specious enough for our Motorhome 28’. There is also a dump station at the exit that is easy to use.
