Had a satisfying early dinner here. This is Earls' 'California' concept, and it definitely had a different, more funky vibe than your typical Earls. Solid Happy Hour menu. The margarita on the rocks, freshly-squeezed lime was excellent. Fish taco was great, with a sizeable piece of fish, not greasy at all. Forager pizza was excellent, with really nice flavours of mushrooms & kale. Will be back to try more!
I have seen a few posts about this place when it first opened and seems to be quite positive, so just wanted to give it a try. This was the old location of Earls Lougheed and they have changed up the decor and have a little section for takeout.nnWe were here for happy hour. We ordered:n- Fish Tacos $6.75 each, which were one of the better ones that we have had.n- The Forager Pizza $15.75, highly recommend. This pizza surprised us, it was so good and it was a lot of pizza for they pricen- Birdies Wings $15.75, was meh and in comparison, this was a very small dish for the price. Not worth ordering again.n- Guava Berry Fizz $7.50, came in a very tall glass, tasted great and presentation was cuten- Culture Blueberry Ginger Kombucha $9.75, it was served in the can, which we didn't know and felt that it was extremely overpriced.nnService was great. Sam was very attentive and extremely friendly.
The restaurant and the atmosphere are great, fantastic setup and patio with fun music; a good spot for a dinner party, drinks, etc. I would rate this a 4.nnThe service was fine, not poor, not great; a 3 for sure. As for the food I would have to give it a 2.5; the presentation was awesome however the flavour lacked and it was consistent for every meal with the exception of their pizza. I would rate the pizza a 4.nnI would go back for drinks and pizza only.
I made a dinner reservation for 12 here as a coworker heard it was good. A bunch of coworkers and former coworkers were getting together to catch up which we do every 3 months.nnBecause we were coming after work at 5pm we were able to take advantage of their Happy Hour specials until 6pm. They had 2 beers on tap for $3.75 10 oz or $7.50 18 oz. I chose a 10 oz pale ale since I was driving. They also had a Strawberry Guava Smash which was a popular choice as we had warm weather that day. They also have glasses of wine for $6.75 5 oz or $9.75 8 oz during Happy Hour.nnThey had 3 pizzas on special. Normally I’d choose a meat pizza but as both were spicy and my throat was feeling a little sensitive, I went with the Forager. It had marinated mushrooms, kale, caramelized onions and white cheddar cheese. It also was a cream based rather than a tomato based sauce. It was surprisingly filling and I had 2/3 of the pizza with leftovers for lunch tomorrow.nnEveryone seemed to enjoy their food and the service was great! I was talking with a coworker and we remarked though it was busy and they were two large tables beside us the place was not overly noisy making it easy to talk and seemed pretty spacious. We all had a great time and would definitely eat here again!
They have definitely done a good job with decor and layout. Came during daytime happy hour, but there was no staff working the front door so it took about 3 minutes before someone recognized us. Food was really good and priced fairly. There only seemed to be 2 staff and 1 bartender working so it did take time to get service. Will definitely try again.
