Love this lighthouse! The stroll on the rocky shores is so rewarding... The rocks offer a microcosm of landscapes: the colors, the shapes... And the water is so clear! We were there in December, so the Georgian Bay was a bit ruffled by the winds. Bonus on an already beautiful experience
There are limited paid parking. If you get there early in the morning, you have a good chance on getting a spot. The lighthouse and the water view is beautiful. Be aware, it can get heavily windy there. It's rocky walking around the lighthouse so, in caution - walk carefully! It was nice getting fresh air in this area and take in the moment of being in another environment.
Well, not much to say besides that it is an overhyped place, gets crowded pretty fast and the lighthouse looks very ordinary. Not much to see besides water and boats go by. Watch where you walk on those rocks. Sunrise must be beautiful for pictures as for sunset nothing hits the lighthouse as it is on the wrong side of the bay. Go later in the evening as there are less people and more places to park.
Great place to go for a short hike/visit - there isn't too many places to walk, and have to take caution while here during the winter as it's difficult to tell which parts are frozen over or part of the bay. The views are great, definitely need a sunny day!
Went to see the lighthouse, but the real treat was the nature surrounding it. The water is so beautiful and clean. Lots of rocks and gorgeous scenery. The lighthouse was nice too! Just smaller than we expected haha. Plus parking is super simple!
It’s okay to see it once but you cannot go to this landmark again and again as it just lighthouse. If you are looking for a good sunset point. This is the spot. You can sit on rocks over there and enjoy the sunset. Bonus tip just go like around 6-7pm because no one checks your parking ticket at that so you can walk around and enjoy the sunset.
If you want to enjoy a vacation in paradise, then you should definitely visit Tobermory, crystal clear waters, you can find diving schools, cruises, boats and yachts, kayak rentals, jet skis, plane flights, visit the different parks that surround them, among which is the Big Tube Lighthouse, there are several cabins for rent and perfect waters for swimming, the ruins of a submerged ship, among others. although this time I could not enjoy it enough due to the low temperatures I did not miss the moment to swim there
Big Tub Lighthouse is an active lighthouse located near Tobermory in Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada. The light house is very close to the town. Great place for swimming, diving and snorkeling, kayaking and canoeing. The water is crystal clear and you will find two shipwrecks in the harbour. Small pay parking lot is available, may be around 15 cars, and parking is enforced all of the time, we saw people being ticketed! Never forget to display your parking ticket!
Super amazing views. Pristine waters. Park your car here with a day pass and have a nice picnic try find best spots to lay down your stuff. You would not regret it.
I had an incredible experience checking this place out in the afternoon of November 24th.. the weather was perfect and I was the only person around! Everything about this area is awe inspiring, the crystal clear water especially. The sun even made a halo in the sky right behind the lighthouse, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Highly recommended!
