I love this place so much. So far it's my favorite place in Victoria. It's small, which I like because I mostly go by myself or with one friend and I don't want any huge tables and loud crowds. This place has style, character, spirit. The staff is always friendly. Drinks are cheap. And they give you free buckets of peanuts and you can throw shells on the floor! If that was not enough - today I came there for a beer and they have an acoustic guitar guitar playing, no ticket needed. Thank you for being so awesome!
Great little dive bar with good HH prices and friendly people. Gotta love a place festooned with hundreds of bras.
I would give zero stars if I could. Terrible service, or lack thereof completely. Came in for a few drinks. Was completely ignored by the bar staff, not even so much as a hello, even upon attempting to ask for service. All so they could accomplish their shift change. No attempt at communication, only dirty looks of an unwelcoming nature. As well as refusal to provide management contact information.
Perfect place for peanut eating, shells on the floor, banter with the bartender/regulars, bras on the wall sort of night. Great country music which fits the scene.
Our waitress told us about Big Bad John's so we knew we had to swing by. Great atmosphere. Bartender was attentive. Canadian lager special was glad we tried it out!!
I wish one of our crew members had ID on her. It was such a shame when we couldn't enter because security were so strict. But place down the road didn't care as much haha.
Thursday night specials were $4.75 beers and dark rum. Love the very reasonable specials.
The pub is an "interesting experience". If you like pub atmosphere, the Big Bad Johns is probably THE place for your. I was a bit surprised that we could get a table around 8pm okay, on a Wednesday. However, they have a pretty good selection of beers, the prices are reasonable.
It was a great bar. Definitely a dive bar. You really have to understand the word dive before you enter. They do serve food as well very good pizza. The bras hanging there where by women to get a free T-shirt. Good Luck.
