Very beautiful.... Well worth your time
Nice little park next to the French Creek. Half way point to meet our daughter! Grass was very high, needed to be mowed last week and bathrooms were not open. 4 to 6 cars there with people eating lunch at the picnic tables. Great access to Creek for kayaks.
Beautiful park here... Great place to relax and take it all in
Peaceful setting for walking my dogs. Bicentennial Park is always clean and it's a great size for dog walks with enough variety in the landscape grass, trees, plants, and a creek plus bunnies that my dogs have lots to sniff. I can walk them right into the water on hot days. Also there's a covered picnic area and a swing set.
The park turned out to be not as big as I expected. It's well maintained and offers a boat launch. We saw a rack that appeared to be place to store canoes and kayaks maybe to rent. Other than that, the double log cabin that is supposed to be a replica of the cabin David Mead built when he moved to the area. The cabin was closed to viewing. The second cabin I believe was to show what a schoolhouse looked like at the time.
Bicentennial Park is a hidden little gem in Meadville... Often overlooked for other larger or more extensive parks... It is a beautiful piece of land nestled against French Creek and has a nice, well maintained pavilion with a grill water spigot and bathroom very conveniently located nearby... A walk across the parking lot takes you to a historical type log cabin and access to French Creek a bit farther... I would advise that it is more geared towards adults as the playground is somewhat lacking and the creek has no fence... But I would definitely recommend it for a nice cookout with adults and older children
It's a beautiful park, small, but picturesque. We like to go there to eat our take out food.
