Beds are old spring mattress and uncomfortable. No phone in rm to call desk or anyone. No info books, no wifi, bad cable TV connection. Very tiny bathrooms, poor shower pressure. Has restaurant but doesn't serve breakfast. Rooms: 2/5
The staff are friendly, but I have to say I was a little disappointed in the cabins. For $175 a night for a little cabin you'd expect it to be updated at least. There seemed to be quite a few flying ants and moths in our cabin, cabin 2, and there was a little bit of a smell in there as well. We ended up staying 1 night and didn't get to try the restaurant, but honestly, I don't think we would stay there again. The carpet should also be changed and one of the windows doesn't have a lock on it. There is no fan in the bathroom causing it to get pretty steamy if you don't feel comfortable having the window open while showering, also both my husband and I lost basically all water while showering, maybe everyone was showing at the same time? I really wanted to love this place, but the cabins could use some updating. The pictures online are pretty deceiving, for the cabins at least.
Not bad of a place to sleep. Don't expect luxury. Clean but cheaply redone. It looks as though it was updated by a do-it-yourselfer. Toilet was squished between the bathtub and a wall. Very tight! One little garbage for the entire room. Front desk gentleman didn't seem to know how to smile or welcome guests. I sort of felt like a burden. In any case I guess this is what $140 gets you nowadays.
We arrived after a long day of driving, after the kitchen had closed. They let us order takeout anyway and we enjoyed the best food of our trip. Butter chicken was fantastic! The beds were comfortable, room was clean. Would definitely stay again.Rooms: 5/5
I have stayed here a few times now when traveling with my dog. Always friendly service, quiet, clean and sheltered from the road noise by the trees. The prices are a little high for somewhat dated rooms and the beds are not fantastic in the pet friendly rooms but the fantastic customer service and seclusion makes up for it.Rooms: 4/5
Advertising of facility is not what you get. Amenities are not as advertised. The aspect of customer service is also not the greatest. Cleanliness is to be desired , not sure when the floor was last washed. It was my first stay and will be the last. Not worth the money they charge.Rooms: 1/5
I was traveling through and this was a great spot for a lay over. The owner was super nice and accommodating. The rooms are standard, I stayed in a queen and it also had a couch & sitting area. Very clean and comfortable bed. I'd stay here again and the staff are super friendly. Recommend A+Rooms: 5/5
I had a wonderful experience at this motel. Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! Great Location! Beautiful atmosphere from inside and outside of that part of city. Will definitely recommend to my friends and family. Perfect for summer vacations. Thank You for making our stay more enjoyable.
We spent three nights here in July and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed. Everything worked perfectly. The service was outstanding. Our hosts were very responsive to all our requests. The location was also perfect for us with great access to the Michipicoten River for canoeing, Lake Superior Provincial Park for hiking and the town of Wawa for amenities. The motel is nestled on a beautiful treed lot, and there is a nice patio with chairs, tables, umbrellas and a BBQ grill. It is very pleasant to sit there to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening drink. The motel also has an on site restaurant, as well as a restaurant immediately adjacent. We enjoyed the food at the on site restaurant so much that we ended up eating there every night and never tried the adjacent restaurant. The food is predominantly Indian fare, with meat chicken and fish and vegetarian options. It was very tasty! We really enjoyed our stay here and will certainly come back if we are ever in the area.
The bed was very comfortable. The room warmed up quickly. My wife is very sensitive to mold, but was not affected until opening up the shower curtain. It needed cleaning. We should have had 2 face cloths. We stayed at a Travelodge on the trip. In some ways, this was better, some worse, but overall the service was comparable, but we paid $80 at Travelodge, but $140 here. Travelodge included a continental breakfast. I think the price is too high here for the quality of service.
