Had a really good experience with Geek Squad at the West End Best Buy. Skyler helped me assess my machine, which clearly needed an overhaul. As we talked through options—whether to move ahead with an SSD or RAM upgrade—he stayed professional and straightforward the entire time. No pressure, just clear explanations and practical guidance.nnWe even looked at potential purchases for when I decide to move forward, but there was no push to buy today. The store has everything you’d need—I just wasn’t in the market at that moment.nnFinal thought… service-minded approach, solid advice, and a good reminder that the right help doesn’t always come with a sales pitch.
I tried to buy a 75 inch TV here. The model I wanted was not available until May 21 but I ordered it in the store on April 15th with assurances I would get it. It was not there on May 21 or May 22. I had previously checked with the store prior to May 21 to ensure it was still on track but on May 23 I received an email saying the TV was no longer available. Disappointing but not the end of the world. Best Buy offered replacement TVs, but not in the same brand. It took several calls and numerous emails in order to find out that they knew all along the TV would not come and they knew this on May 11. After a bunch of back-and-forth, I went to the store to receive credit which was also a challenge, but eventually occurred at the till, however it’s two days later and I still don’t see a credit to my Visa card. A polite young lady named Annu was very helpful at the store, but the inability for Best Buy corporate to back her up is an atrocity. Corporate Customer service calls you and leaves a message but you can’t call them back so if you don’t pick up when they call you need to wait until they call again. Painful! Unless you can put your hands on it in the store and walk out with it, don’t buy it here.
We’ve shopped here twice in the last few months and were let down both times...nn​Just before Christmas, we spent 35 minutes at the Meta glasses rack while an employee watched us without offering help. Once we finally approached her with the item number and stock info, we practically had to help her search the locked cabinet for another 20 minutes to find the pair. It was clear our presence was a burden.nn​Most recently, I came to the mobile department to ask about the Galaxy Watch Ultra on Rogers network. I had already ordered it for pickup but Google was saying it might not work on their network The associate repeatedly insisted it wouldn't work because it wasn't an Apple watch. She then dismissed me by suggesting a Geek Squad appointment.nI set it up myself in the car in minutes and what do ya know, it works perfectly on their network. It’s disappointing to receive such confidently incorrect advice from the mobile department.nnWhile the online pickup desk was actually great and very helpful, the floor staff seem to lack both the product knowledge and the initiative to assist. I’ll be sticking to online orders from now on to avoid the frustration.
