Smashing IT!nnSnuggled in the heart of trendy Ossington lies a really cool place to hang out and enjoy some fabulous food and home brewed delicious beers.nnThe Bellwoods Brewery is just a cool place to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere.nnThey brew their own beers, hence the name and the machinery they use to make their delicious crafted beers visible to all that enter.nnI tried a few of their light and dark ales. Very delicious. Crisp and fragrant, I would describe the beers. And pairs very well with any of their dishes.nnI had the following:nnOlives - a nice assorted me of olives to accompany the various beer selections they have on tap.nnSourdough bread with their specialty whipped butter. Nice and salty! The sourdough bread was one of the best sourdough's that I have ever tasted!nnSteak Fritters. The steak was cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth, and no need for a steak knife.nThe fries were perfectly salted and added that wow factor to the steak.nnWhether you're hungry for lunch or dinner, expect to spend a few hours at the Bellwoods Brewery, and your taste buds will thank you.nnAlso excellent customer service and wait staff. Friendly and engaging!
Visited this brewery recently with a friend and my dog, and while it was a relaxed, welcoming place, there were a few things I wish were different. We sat on the patio, which was dog-friendly, but no one offered water for my dog — something I’d expect in a pet-friendly setting. The cider selection was also pretty limited, with only two options. For a brewery, I found that a bit odd.nnWe arrived between lunch and dinner, so they weren’t serving meals, just a few snacks. However, there was no menu for the snacks, which would have been nice, even if just a small one.nnThe vibe and design inside were great. Everyone there was friendly and accommodating, which made for a pleasant experience overall. The cherry cider was a highlight for me; it was really tasty!
Atmosphere and drinks are great. Service was also excellent. However, the food was very disappointing. The steak was very very chewy with barely any flavour. The fries came out soggy. My friend got the burger, and her patty wad dry as well.
Bellwoods Brewery is the epitome of Toronto’s overpriced mediocrity. $26 for a burger that barely reaches reasonable size and $30 for one sausage with a small side of mashed potatoes. The flavour of both - acceptable, but it fails to amaze, excite or even tinkle any appetite.nThe service was honestly perplexing. The waiter brought out the burger first, before the appetizer quesadilla, and significantly ahead of the other dish. He also zipped away the plate that was not even finished, including the cutlery that was still being used for the quesadilla. He didn’t ask - just literally snatched it away. Very poor service experience.nThe stout was alright - it lacked the silky, rich quality of an imperial stout.nThis was my second visit, after an underwhelming first, and makes me unlikely to want to return.
The foreground on which this place shines is the location and the Atmosphere. Apart from that, we were served mediocre food.nnOur first serve of the Beer was flat which is appalling as the place is a Brewhaus.nnService is super late , wait 30 mins to be seated on a Saturday evening , for someone to just hand over the beer can to you ... yes beer in a can.
