I enjoy visiting cemeteries because they’re so peaceful and serene. Not to mention the energy. They’re usually kept clean and groomed nicely. This Bellevue Cemetery has all that. Some of the people laid to rest there are from a very long time ago which adds to the intrigue. I like reading the gravestones to see when so and so passed away. This cemetery has many historical people and I find it educational.
Bellevue is an historic Protestant cemetery on the north shore of the Ottawa River in what was once Aylmer, Quebec. Here lie many of the early English settlers of this part of the Ottawa Valley with views at one time of the river to the south and the Gatineau hills to the north. Bellevue Cemetery is well treed and tended to. One could do worse than to be buried here. My father, a nominal Catholic who lived close by, thought this as well. For him, and his family, the choice of Bellevue Cemetery was both practical and desirable.
I see ghosts there
Translated by Google Very nice little cemetery very well maintained. It's weird to say but we would have a picnic there while respecting of course those who are resting there. Majestic trees bursting with color in the fall. Original Très beau petit cimetière tres bien entretenu. C'est bizarre à dire mais on y ferait un pique-nique tout en respectant bien sûr ceux qui s'y reposent. Des arbres majestueux qui éclatent de couleur en automne.
