My husband and I stopped by for our late lunch on my way home from the Bass Lake Provincial Park. This restaurant is just amazing. Going to a crowded patio along with pets is sometimes worry for me, but Beertown’s servers so welcomed us and showed the best kindness I’ve ever experienced. My doggies were served the iced water bowl and their couch. Everyone said kindly hello to my pets, and it made us feel comfortable. We ordered the calamari, nacho somethingI just showed and picked from Google review photos, non alcohol beer, and 4 kinds of local beer. It was so so so good, especially the fried sweet potatoes is the best. So crunchy, sweet, fluffy. We will visit again when going to north. To Beertown, Thank you guys, you guys are awesome. You remind me that people in Barrie are the nicest people ever.
Stopped by on our way up north. Very convenient location by 400. Nicely decorated interior, just wish they had more booth seating like classic pubs. The seatings are too open for my liking. Food is good and fresh. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We had brisket burger, fries, sweet potato wedges and coleslaw. Portion is really big. Both coleslaw and fries are on the light side which is healthy for pub food. I would prefer classic sweet potato fries to wedges. It was crispy on the outside but too chunky, just wasn’t my style. Overall a nice twist on classic pub food, not the old school burger and fries. Beer selection was really good. Price is reasonable. Would be a nice spot to visit again in the summer.
Star rating is a average between both visits. Visited twice over the last couple of weeks. First visit on July 24 Sunday evening was as family of 3. Fantastic experience! We could tell the restaurant was super busy from the parking lot so we called to see if they had any open tables. They confirmed they had a spot to accommodate us so we parked and headed in. We were greeted by smiling faces at the host stand who promptly whisked us over to the waiting table. We were greeted within a minute by our server who took the time to help us navigate the large beer menu. Despite a couple of our first choices not being available, she had comparable recommendations ready to go and had us started with drinks within a few minutes. Awesome beer menu! Service was fantastic throughout the entire evening. Food was amazing! Brisket Burger was a hit. Flat iron steak salad was perfectly prepared - steak was super tender. Even my 6 year old who is the pickiest of eaters is still raving about how great her fried chicken was. So much so, we had no choice but to head there again this past holiday Monday with her cousins. Monday’s visit was OK. This time we visited as a table of 7. Restaurant itself was a lot slower but so was service. It was clear our server this time around was much less seasoned and not as enthusiastic as we experienced during our first visit. We were happy the beers we had wanted to try the last time we’re now available. Unfortunately, my husband ordered the brisket platter, but server came back to let him know they were out for the rest of the evening. He and the other two adults instead ordered the steak frites, but unfortunately the server again returned with bad news - no more steak for the rest of the night. They all settled for the brisket burger. My daughter went with the kids fried chicken again. Still a hit, though the portion size was a lot less, half to be exact 1 small piece instead of the two she got the previous visit. Fish tacos were great. Despite our less amazing second visit, we will be back again! Lastly, Unfortunately we didn’t get his name, but there is a young man with super curly hair who we interacted with both times, that was great. He seemed like he may be new , perhaps training? First visit he was working the host stand, and the second time appeared to be on the expo line, assisting Some of the servers with food running , etc. He was Super friendly and extremely helpful, definitely deserving of a shout out!
This is one of the few restaurants in Barrie that would allow pets on the patio. We were quite nervous as this is our first time taking our puppy to a restaurant. We called ahead to make sure the pet policy hasn't changed and the person on the phone assured us that they are a very pet friendly restaurant. Hearing that put us at ease. We received a warm welcome once we arrived with our little puppy. They offered a dog bed and a water bowl. We were so impressed but we didn't take it as our puppy tends to chew on dog beds. Moreover, they have an extensive list of cocktails. We were a group of 7 adults, so each of us ordered at least one different cocktail to try. The cocktails were so good. The food was amazing too. Great service, we would love to bring our dog there again.
Burger was ok but too overcooked for my liking very well done. Beer was great, 3 speed nice light lager. Half the fries were over cooked and rock hard. Gravy has a nice flavour. Very friendly staff. Quick service. I will come again but try something else to eat.
Food was good, beer was good. Great selection for beer. I had the southern fried chicken. It was crispy and tasty. I enjoyed the house ketchup and mustard sauce. Wasn't a fan of the dill sauce, but that's just personal preference. My wife had the vegan tacos. I tried one and they were very good. The atmosphere is pretty good. It was packed when we went, so it was very loud. Rated 4 stars instead of 5 only because I mentioned that it was my wife and brother-in-law's birthday and there was no acknowledgment by the staff. I wasn't expecting any free dessert or anything at all for free, but at least ask me if we want a slice of cake of something for dessert. Either way, I would go back.
Visit May 4th, 2022, party of 4 for meal and beverages. Great atmosphere, incredible variety of beer, wine, spirits and other drinks. Service was prompt and professional. Server 'Brandon' was great. Mobility impaired accessible. Food ordered wings, tuna bowl, Carolina fried chicken, and Double standard burger, all very good and reasonably priced. Nice outdoor patio and inside dining area.
Quick service, speedy food delivery and friendly staff and a long list of wines and beers, especially for beer enthusiasts. Food was not what was expected as I found that some flavours were missing on some 'preztel' is a bun that's cut in half but some dishes were spot on. Finger food or burger type dish is probably a safer choice if you don't to be disappointed in the menu choices. Lots of Vegan and gluten free menu options are available too!
Always a good time at Beer town! Had a father's day dinner date night just the 2 of us. The waygu burger wasn't my favourite thing on the menu neither was the turkey burger my wife got. But we are working our way through the menu so you take the good with the bad.
Best birthday celebration ever with family from Vancouver. Food and service was amazing. Best raspberry cheesecake I've had. Looking forward to our next visit.
