The meat is great, the cross contamination of the food products and infection control practices is terrible. I have been there twice. Both times I had to request they change their gloves and wash their hands between clients. Both times I was given an attitude. They rarely change gloves between clients or when handling different cuts of meat. They handle chicken with hands that have handled pork. Handle steak with hands that have handled chicken. You get the picture. If you eat your steak rare, the risk of salmonella is real. Each cut needs to be cooked at different temperatures to ensure safely. It only takes a few moments standing in line to observe the cross contamination happening. Proper food handling practices are absent. I’m sad though as I live nearby and was so excited to have a butcher close. I suggest you just observe and decide on your own if you are willing to take the risk with your family.
My husband and I just had the most delicious pork chops, bone in, ever! We couldn't believe how moist and flavorful they were. Thank you, Rob, for being in our community and your commitment to providing high quality meat and chicken. We are so lucky! Linda
Deli meat here is cheaper and better than the large grocery stores and service is excellent. The meat is excellent quality but you do pay more than you would at the grocery stores.
I just want to let everyone know that the Beckwith Butcher is a really great meat shop, for I placed an order & left the store without looking in my bag to make sure my order was correct. I called them the next day to let them know that I was missing steaks but they were closed so I emailed them my dilemma. They emailed back apologizing & told me to just come on in & they’d replace my meat. Not only did they replace my forgotten meat, they gave me extra to boot.. I’ll always shop there for my meat..
Wonderful butchery, dare I say famous sausages, great steak cuts and other specialties. Deli products too like salads etc., and accompanying add-ons and treats. They carry proper pickled eggs here too. Customer service is excellent.... or eggcellent. Current COVID requirements include wearing their disposable gloves when you enter, wear a mask, 5 at a time in the store. Customers cycle through quickly so no waiting around.
Wanted to share my experience with The Beckwith Butcher last Thanksgiving: I purchased a large chicken for our small family and when I got home, both wings were missing. Made for a very poor presentation. If you’re picking up a bird here this year, suggest you check it before leaving the store!
This butcher shop is fantastic! Friendly staff, wide selection and, best of all, great meat! Their gluten-free sausages are especially great!
I Have always bought my beef here. The best is the best. PRIME RIB AT NEW YEARS EVE . melt in your mouth. Separated from bone and properly trussed. Best prime rib ever. My 14 guests were suitably impressed. You know how good your butcher is when you have a problem. I absolutely love my traeger bbq. Have special company tomorrow and the controller burnt out. He had an upgrade digital in stock. Offered me to bring it there to fix it. All good for tomorrow. That's a man that looks after his customers. Have never had a bad experience from here. Meat is always good and at a reasonable price. The staff is always helpful and friendly.
Wow , this is an amazing butcher, they have an excellent selection of a variety of meats and cheeses. The staff is kind , courtius and knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning!
