Brought a large group for an afternoon lunch as part of an event at the Slater Family Ice Arena Bowling Green University and made a reservation for a large group. Beckett’s was able to accommodate reservations and staffed up for the group. Excellent variety of menu options for all. Large portions, good food, burgers cooked to preference, with a variety of sides available. We dined in a side room away from the bar, which worked for our group. Wait staff was great, and they held the tables set up in advance. Parking behind the restaurant and along the street out front.
Stopped in on our way to Detroit, very cute little burger bar! I love the atmosphere, service was great, food was delicious! I really enjoy when you find little places like these that aren’t a chain and they really go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful experience!
From the host to our server Libby - great service/friendly to the food - great experience! Ordered prime rib special of the night comes with three sides, pepper jack cubes no pic and mac & cheese burger no pic. Old fashioned 2x because it was so good and sweet tea. Highly recommend and we'll be back for another date night. We were there around 630p on a Friday and no wait but it did start getting busy by the time we left. Love the new location too! Parking: Plenty of free parking lot in the back
Wanted to try somewhere I have not been to. I am so glad I did. Very nice atmosphere. The booths were spacious. The server was very attentive and thorough. The beckett nachos were fresh and really good. The fried shrimp/waffle fries were better than many other places I have been. The fried bologna sandwich was really good. I was a thick piece of bologna, maybe a tad salty but not horrible next time I will get an egg on it. Onion rings were great and very fresh.
It’s amazing Burger bar in Barrel room, waitress are friendly. All the sides were amazing. Parking is right outside at night. It shouldn’t be very hard to find. Drinks are good. Burger Comes with a slice of pickle. There was a dead small insect on one pickle.
I’m updating my review: they just opened the Barrel Room and I went with friends. The food was really good - mostly “finger-type” food. I had the southwest chicken dip and it was really great! Hot, cheesy, and just the right amount of spice. But where things really shine are the beverages. I had an old fashion and it came infused with Oak along with the orange peel and cherry. It was great! Highly recommend it. My take is: Go to Beckett’s Burger Bar and Barrel Room in person. If you enjoy cocktails, it’s definitely the place to go! Older review is here: I included a photo of my Philly steak and cheese. I’m pretty sure it was pot roast…and about 3 ounces of it. From February of 2022. EDIT: I called George and spoke to him after he responded to my review confirming that my order was not good and way under portioned. He said he’d mail me a gift card so I could try again.
Staff where friendly, and working decent for a busy night. There were a lot of orders in before ours even though we beat most of the crowd. So it took almost an hour to get our food. We both go to the burgers she got the cops I got the cleaning mac and cheese. This place is known for their outstanding burgers. My wife got a build-your-own burger, and I got the steak burger. She ordered her a burger well-done as she does not like pink in the burger meat. It came out medium. So she was unable to eat it and didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for replacement. They did take the Burger off of the order. Hater tots which were run-of-the-mill nothing special. The steak burger had onion straws, steak seasoning, A1 steak sauce, on a brioche bun. My burger was cooked as it should have been. I would have liked to have had more A1 sauce as it was cooked in rather than top with. So it was hard to tell the flavor profile of the A1. Oh no my burger was good but not as good as I expected for a place that's known for their burgers. The mac and cheese whipped dry and overcooked. However once I started a lot of the flavor was in the bottom of the dish and it did turn out to be halfway decent. Thank you for the prices that you pay here would have liked to have had better attention to the food prep. So after spending the money we spent here we get to stop on the way home from my wife to pick up something to eat. Very disappointed for a birthday meal. Yes I would probably come here again as the drinks were delicious and the food was how to do some hard due to the amount of people. We give them a second chance but would like to see better next time. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Beckett's is now on S Main Street LOTS OF FREE PARKING! Great service & open late! Delicious eats in large portion Try the Cobb Salad
Update: The Barrel Room at Beckett's really upped the rating! The old fashioned rivaled big city cocktails, with a solid whiskey taste and a nice luxardo cherry yes, an old fashioned that good-- and absolutely not the common Midwestern glass of crushed ice with a splash of bourbon and cheap maraschino cherry. Beer selection was better than initial review from just Beckett's restaurant, and there's huge potential in the gastro-pub fare. The tuna nachos took a few bites for my tongue to figure out and then I couldn't stop eating them! The mussels themselves and their broth were great, though the pita didn't really work maybe they could toast them? Or just toast some of the French bread they use for the stuffed bread and remove an ingredient from their menu?. The ability to remove the pork from the brussel sprouts would be great for vegetarians and the various cultures that abstain from pork and I bet I'd return even more often than I plan to. Bourbon creme bruleé was fantastic! *and* beautifully plated. The slight bitterness from the singed bourbon and sugar crust was perfectly balanced by the caramel and pecans. I think with a few small changes this place could stand head to head with Detroit/Toledo/Cleveland gastro pubs. Old Review Pre-Barrel Room: Food was ok, service was great, draught beer list surprisingly sparse. Buffalo cauliflowers a bit too heavy on the breading and blue cheese, burger was good. Sweet potato fries were sugared would have been nice if menu said that.
Burgers are huge - ½ pound for a single, whole pound for a double. I got a Ruben served on fancy bread - it was yummy. Large selection of beer, but not non-alcoholic beer. Waitress was attentive, without interrupting too much. No waiting on a Tuesday evening. House salad was large and delicious.Food: 4/5
