I took the MSP course and it was amazing. Everyone was so passionate and helpful during the entire course. They always told us that where we are in the course is perfect for us right now, to decrease the amount of pressure we put on ourselves. The course is meant to be taken at your own pace but I loveddddd the live classes. I anticipated every meeting we had. The classes were very detailed and the instructors always answered questions. I also love the fact that the MSP course certifies you in fertility, loss, prenatal, birth, and postpartum it is absolutely worth the investment. You can feel the love and strong sense of community in Bebo Mia, which is another reason I loved the classes so much. They are all active in the pursuit of changing the birth spaces to produce better outcomes for birthers and families. Moreover, Bebo Mia also has a birth worker support group. This group is like a therapy session for everyone in the course who needs it and they implemented this so that we the students are healed healers which is so important. If that does not scream they care about their students well being I do not know what will. This also highlights the fact that they care about each life that you touch and your clients will benefit even more from the healed version of you. With this course and the others provided, you will be equipped with the information you need to be confident and competent with everything you do after certification. There is so much more amazing things I can say! But please see for yourself. When you invest in yourself you will receive a bigger ROI from Bebo Mia. I loved the course and so will you. I also plan on taking the Infant Sleep course soon. Before deciding on Bebo Mia I research many doula institutions and Bebo Mia by far is the best and taking the course proved that!
I enjoyed the MSP and BWBS programs. The educators were empowering and super knowledgeable. I adored the all the people I met along the way and felt like family being in class every week. I made some life long friendships through Bebo Mia and I am forever grateful.
I am so grateful I found Bebo Mia to take my maternal support practitioner training and get certified as a fertility, birth, and postpartum doula. I love how this program included education on how to be inclusive to different minority groups including education on racial disparities and how to have a doula practice inclusive of people in all gender identities etc. These classes offered enriching information on everything from fertility to birth and postpartum, how to build a business, and how to expand your practice. I also found it incredibly valuable to surround myself with people trying to make positive change in the world. These wonderful humans validate feelings and encourage reflection on how we process strong emotions, how we handle triggers etc. Because of these classes I will not only be a better doula but also a better person. I look up to the mentors in this class and feel so inspired to start my own business. They have been incredibly supportive and have answered so many questions that came up for me along the way. I am so grateful to you all. Thank you for helping me build a new chapter to my life, Bebo Mia Team!
When I connected with Bebo Mia, their team immediately felt like home. I have been a devoted student and follower since 2019 and forever will be grateful for the path they helped get me on, and the doors and opportunities they have opened and left me to. Truly, Bebo Mia is an exceptional organization and I am proud to have found them.
I have had nothing but positive interactions with everyone form Bebo Mia. They have all been very open, helpful and supportive. I am excited to begin my Doula journey now that I have finished all my classes. I found the information they provided in their classes and in books they had us read, to be extremely relevant to all the aspects of being a doula. As a business I found there respect for ALL people to be uplifting and encouraging. There need to be more businesses who support and promote ALL people.
Most all encompassing Doula Training you will find with support every step of the way! I am so grateful for the knowledge and understanding I have gained through the Maternal Support Practitioner Program. The instructors are so passionate about birth work and truly care about you and the people who you will be serving once you start working with clients. I would recommend their courses to anyone wanting to become a birth worker of any kind.
A very supportive and informative program and community. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a maternal support practitioner course that covers all aspects of fertility, pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Bebo Mia is a great Doula Certification Program. They are friendly and helpful and focus on making sure you feel supported in your course towards becoming a Doula. They constantly remind you that this course is to be done at your own pace and "where you are is perfect for you at this time" relax and take it one step at a time.
My frustration with Bebo Mia has continued to build over the last 5 months. I invested in both their MSP program and the fertility program. Shortly after enrolling in the fertility program, the controversy with king yaa went public. king yaa’s lived experience was not acknowledged with empathy, as one might assume an organization of birth workers would prioritize. What has festered in me has been a combination of things: 1. Their inability to just take accountability 2. Their refusal to support their own community of students and alumni during the fallout from this situation. They waited 108 days on pause before addressing the situation, and still in that initial moment, decided to make it about themselves. Myself along with many other students wrote an open letter to the organization requesting a town hall to hold space for students and alumni who have been affected by this. While yes, a handful of us were allowed to speak during the town hall, strangely Bebo Mia decided this was an appropriate time to advertise new programs for us to buy…. Hmm. I have completed the required births to gain certification from Bebo Mia at this time, but feel morally wrong in continuing with this route without any clarity that this organization is going to do better. This situation, that could’ve been made 1000x better with a bit of empathy, has continued to affect my mental health to the point that I find myself unable to be present with my family because Bebo Mia takes up so much of my mental space. It has become clear that they have no interest in rebuilding any trust with those of us who’ve already spent our money with them. They have not come up with a plan to help actually heal their existing community and are just banking on their rebrand of programs to bring in new and unexpecting students. Bebo Mia has taken the position that if we don’t want to certify with them, they don’t care, but we should because nobody in the real world cares who you train through anyway. Sounds like they don’t put a lot of value in their own programs and just want your money, huh? I refuse to let this organization take up more of my mental space but will never stop advocating for other students, alumni, and prospective students to be informed about their lack of accountability and supportiveness. They want the least amount of people to know about the issues as possible; they are not being transparent. Ignorance is not bliss, it is tragedy in development. Anyway, because of these things, I cannot and will not recommend Bebo Mia to anyone. Which is a shame, because for a while I was extremely proud to be a Bebo Mia alumni and thought I was a valued member of their community, but now I’m left knowing I was only a paycheck.
I truly cannot speak highly enough about Bebo Mia. Natasha and Bianca are such genuine and caring women. I completed my 3 month Maternal Support Practitioner training and finish it feeling so knowledgable and honestly supported. The course left me feeling not only prepared to begin working as a doula; but confident in my abilities in both the hands on and the business portion as well. Bianca and Natasha provided me with so much support, even outside of the training time and continually made me feel like a priority and that they were happy to help! Anyone who is beginning a career as a maternal support practitioner should absolutely use bebo mia; I cannot imagine having a better experience; with such lovable and inspiring mentors :
