Was a nice walk. Pretty views of the mashy flats. Went at 6 ish in the evening since dusk is supposed to be best to see beavers out and about. Didn't see any beavers tho but saw the dams and house that they've built. At least 3 boardwalks were closed and needed repair. Popular place for running and taking dogs for walks. ‍
It's so peaceful. Had a nice walk but I didn't see any beavers. But it was okay the weather was calm. There's a part of the boardwalk that was damaged and can't be strolled. I hope they can fix that.
Had a nice stroll along the boardwalk. Some areas are under construction but that didn't slow me down. Good area to get fresh air and exercise. Seen a couple beavers but wasn't able or quick enough to get a picture of them. A nice elevated bridge area out in the marsh. Kids would love to explore the area and I plan on taking the kids here on our next Canadian road trip.
Lovely place. We were there about the sunrise hour. See lovely family of beavers and some ducks.
Immediately saw a beaver when I came, so the name did not disappoint. The whole boardwalk system is really beautiful and a nice calm walk. Must check out if you're in the area
We stopped here at the end of the day to enjoy the sunset. Parts of the boardwalk were under construction but it is extremely well done and recommend for a nice evening stroll.
Only thing I have to say that has not been mentioned a bunch is that if you are in a wheel chair or crutches there is an easier place to get to the trails since the main parking area is VERY steep and loose dirt. From Mountain St Go east about 5-6 houses on Reimer Dr and there is a flat grassy area to get you to the trails.
Fairly extensive trail system along Happy Creek, Maxwell Lake. You can go for a short hike on the boardwalk section, or a long one along the dirt trails. The boardwalk takes you around a beaver pond/wet lands. A long stretch of the Happy Creek trail runs adjacent to residential areas, frequented by friendly dog walkers. Sections of the boardwalk were closed, awaiting maintenance. Wish we had the time to see more. Would definitely return. Restrooms: Outhouse style restroom at trailhead. Dog-friendliness: Dogs welcome and are everywhere but are required to be on- leash.
A beautiful walk! Would have given it 5 stars but there were a couple spots under construction. But I would still recommend it if you're I the area and looking for a relaxing walk.
Fantastic place. Was expecting one or two glimpses of beavers but actually saw more than 5 beavers, in action. Kids had a very good time. Must go early morning or early evening to see the beavers. Saw them swimming, sitting and eating. That area has a pond on one side and a small area that has a lot of beaver dams. You walk around these beaver dams. It is also a dog park. But not a good idea to take dogs that get excited at wild animals. You need to walk on wooden boardwalk, there is no open field.
