A really cool museum. They gave us a tour which is what made it worth it. To learn about the different parts of the house and the history of Charolettown. The best part is they let us go all the way up to the Widoes Watch where we could look out over the bay. The view was great and they had a map up there so we could tell what was what. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The gardens were a beautiful spot to sit as well. Nice boardwalk walk next to it. All in all Great!!
An exceptional slice of PEI history. The tours are informative, colourful and add a layer of historical perspective nuanced with conjecture of the time period. Nick and the employees of the museum do a wonderful job at making everyone feel welcome.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
The house is only open for tourist certain days of the week. There were closed the day we were there. However we walked the grounds and by the water which was charming!!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
This house has been amazingly reproduced to look like it would have when first built. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Would have been good to have been able to see more of the house maids quarters and certain rooms were closed off Well worth a visit if in Charlottetown.
Loved the visit! The house is very well kept with most furniture, decorations, floors, other household items from the time it was built. It is truly a voyage to the past. It will impress you even if you are not one to like history. However, this is mostly a visit for adults, younger kids may get bored.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Went in February, the door was locked but someone came and opened it to let me see the place. No tour at the time so I wandered on my own for about 30 min. Parking is limited, there is a lot across the street but I believe it said it was for private use
Excellent guide and tour available. Amazing piece of historical value, actively an important home during the Charlottetown confederation and observation of the bay.Visited onWeekdayWait time30–60 minReservation recommendedNo
Great experience, loved the guided tour. Very interesting history of the house, beautiful mansion to see.
I love historical sites and this house did not deceive. It's amazing how people lived a hundred, two hundred years ago. This place was used for several reasons, but they also kept the charm of the house.
We just visited from the outside as we reached near closing time. But it was still a nice place to visit as the house is very photogenic and the property is surrounded by a beautiful park & garden.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
