We have so much fun at this little farm. There is a suggested donation, I barely remember how much it is. But I donated around 15 dollars for four, I think. They have different farm animals. The goats were the star of the farm. You can't really pet them because of COVID. But a staff would walk around to let you touch the goat. The peacocks of course were so cute.
My kids spent at least an hour in the goat pen and it was an effort to get them to move on. It was the highlight for sure. I liked the board with all the lineages, and finding which babies belonged to which mamas. It was very sweet how often we found even older siblings resting together. We had no idea what to expect for the morning goat stampede but it was quite entertaining in it’s own way! The goat pen is the tidiest one I have ever been in for this type of thing. Staff very actively cleaning up droppings and adding clean wood shavings. Quite impressive to be honest, I’m used to dodging poop whenever we’ve been at similar goat/animal petting areas. Otherwise, my kids liked the chickens and the peacocks, especially when one peacock inside the farm was trying to intimidate another one outside. Suggested donation is $4/kid and $5/adult. Masks are required for the goat stampede and in the goat pen.
Easily the highlight of our visit to Victoria. They have lots of pigs, flightless birds including a peacock and about 60 goats you can go and pet, which is really fun and I'd recommend it to people of all ages I'm 32 and I loved it Read the story of Peanut Butter which was beautiful and heart breaking. It's clear the staff here love their work and their animal friends. A small donation of 5 dollars is optional but customary! The entire place is run on donations!
The Beacon Hill Children's Farm is a wonderful place for all ages to visit! If you can, try to catch the running of the goats - an adorable tiny stampede. Please keep in mind that the pathways are accessible, but may be difficult for wheelchair users. If you have mobility issues, please keep in mind that there are no accessible washrooms near the farm - you have to go over to the playground area.
We're so glad the petting zoo is back to almost normal. We had to wear masks in the goat petting area, but no complaints here. We love this attraction and have for many years! Excellent spot for a sunny afternoon with kids or visitors alike. The goats are so content! No brushes yet due to covid but otherwise just as fun as it's always been!
Such a great place to go with the family. Young ones love it being able to see and pet many little animals and to walk around the beacon hill park itself
Looking forward to when the farm can go back to normal, prepandemic ways. Not being able to go into the goat pen or see the goat stampede has removed the 2 best features of this attraction. We will probably go back, as we have been going forever, but this is the sad version currently available.
It's Spring and baby goats are being born!! We saw two sets of triplets today and more babies are promised soon. For a nominal entrance fee, children and adults alike can enjoy other animals as well ... donkeys, alpacas, miniature horses, peacocks and more. We had a great time!
What a wonderful place for kids to pet goats. And the people working here are all friendly! Lots of parking in front of the farm entrance. Very recommended!
Lots of happy goats, chickens, sheep and peacocks at this tiny, by donation farm. It's almost as fun watching kids' faces light up when a worker holds a little goat for petting privileges.
