So, the much maligned BC Ferry Service...nobody complains when they make their ferry, I notice. Thank you, BCFerryPeople, for your excellent and personable service. Let some decent folks take youse someplace Beautiful, why don'tcha?
Nice little BC Ferries terminal on Quadra Island in the Discovery Islands group, and directly across from destination Campbell River on Vancouver Island. A short sub-10 minute sail. Picture postcard setting in a very pretty harbor. There's a coffee kiosk onsite good coffee! and a tiny but lovely fish & chips place right next door. A trio of totem poles greet arrivals at the terminal.
Short ten minute ferry ride. Well organized, friendly staff. Nice ocean views. Long car line up during busy times. Be prepared to wait a while.
Nice clean ferry terminal. They have indoor space for foot passengers to wait or have a nice walk around. Nice clean bathroom with wheelchair access. Friendly staffs too. Everyone is wearing mask and practicing social distancing.
Nice way to start your Quadra island adventure. with a 15 min jaunt to the island with return fare back to Campbell River. Best to ignore work cycle times during summer. You can also tell just how powerful the current is by the bend in the boats travels.
Cute little terminal with a seafood place. Generally pleasant spot to wait for a ferry. No lines today!
Small ferry service but well managed line, plenty of staff to answer questions. You typically line up on the hill outside the terminal for the next ferry but they have staff there too. Coffee kiosk at the terminal is a lifesaver at times but there is regularly a line up. Tip: the supermarket in the row of shops also serves regular coffee - you just have to ask at the deli.
Efficient and safe. Great espresso! Literally one of the best I've had!
Live hear for 3 years and people visit from all over the world and everyone loves it with many returning especially people from other parts of BC. I Think I will be here until I die. It's a very peaceful place for campers hikers bikers kyackers and people who love fishing and have boats.
Beautiful area to stop and wait for the ferry. Clean restrooms and walking areas.
