Bayview Motel, Chalets & RV Park

About

Clean, Cozy, Comfortable Cottages

Story

Our private, 2 bedroom chalets have a rustic feel but come with very clean, modern well equipped kitchens and baths. Each of the chalets sleep 6 comfortably on the 2 double beds and the pull out couch. For larger groups, we recommend White Birch Chalet, which will handle a family of 8 or 9 comfortably.
The "vintage" motel is small and quiet with a front deck for early morning coffee or late night glass of something. All of our guests are welcome at the evening campfire and encouraged to start one if there isn't one going!

My husband and I stayed in the apartment in the main building. The apartment had been renovated and was very well layed out with a large balcony and bbq. The walk to town was about 10 minutes. We had a few housekeeping issues but they were dealt with. The owner was very helpful when we booked with shopping tips and early check in.
We stayed in The Blackbarry cottage. The rooms need to be cleaned better. Dirt/spider webs/mold was all visible. There are stains on furniture & ceiling.nnThe one bedroom had two glass panes as the window which had a gap. This let in cold air all night. Majority of the doors scraped the floor and were tough to open and close.nnFor the price of this cottage, especially when compared to the competition, I cannot recommend it. It's worth noting that the staff are nice and other cottages seemed to be better updated.
This review is based on RV site only. This is not an RV park. It is a small motel with several RV spots in the parking lot. I booked in February for an October trip. When I booked I was told due to the size of our rig they were going to reserve two sites for us at a charge of $60 a night, 50 amp full hookup. When I called prior to arrival to confirm, I was told they had to move us to a “site” closer to the office with no sewer. I did not want a no sewer site as we were going to be there 6 days. Was told there was one other site we’d fit into. When we arrived we discovered our site was between two seasonal sites at such an awkward angle most people would never get in. We finally got in but we’re so close to the trailer on out right there was no way we could open our awning. No fire pit, no picnic table and only 30 amp service but there was sewer. Had we gone into the site the owner wanted to put us in closer to the office, it was basically a narrow strip of grass with water and 20 amp which we couldn’t really use, no sewer and no dump station. The owner was very nice on the phone but we never saw anyone but the cleaning lady who came to get our credit card info from us. This place is close to town and convenient to Fundy Park but it is definitely not an RV park.
I picked this place in a hurry based on location and google reviews, and felt lucky when we got there and saw how nice it was, and how good the location was. I was very happy with my choice. We are a family of 3 and stayed in the Hilltop Chalet, which has 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, living area and a fully equipped kitchen. The front porch has a view of a slice of the bay through the hills. The building is a few decades old, but clean and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, and were kind enough to set up a propane fireplace on the porch so we could roast marshmallows sheltered from the rain. We had plenty of space to unpack and rearrange all our gear, and to cook our own meals. The location is great - 40 minute drive to Hopewell Rocks, and just down the street from Alma and Fundy National Park. Alma is a cute little town with restaurants, shops, lobster boats, a bakery, and a kayaking tour company. The general store has basic food, sundries, camping equipment, and liquor. It was a lovely place to visit. If you're looking for a place to stay near the national park or Hopewell Rocks, I highly recommend these chalets.
Very friendly and accommodating owners, with a lovely mascot Kitty who welcomed us when we arrived.nCleanest motel I've ever stayed in, with a common firepit free firewood and quiet surroundings. We booked at the last minute and were able to get two rooms in the motel, but will be booking one of the chalets when we return. Thanks for a great stay!
