An organically managed tree fruit and berry orchard located in the hills above Bayfield, WI.
We are hard at work throughout the seasons at the the BAC. In the winter months we are keeping warm pruning trees and making our fruit butters, jams, and jellies. As spring nears, the snow begins to melt and the buds slowly swell in preparation for the warmth of summer. Once the snow has left our sandy soil we begin planting new varieties of trees and berries to diversify our future. The cool May days quickly transition into the warmth of the summer months. The sunny days ripen our raspberries, cherries, peaches, and currants; and fuel the developing fruit of the fall. When the maples in the swamp begin to show their fall colors , it is time for us to begin the harvest: apples and pears. And with good apples and pears come poor ones, which truly aren't that poor, and they too will be used for our Cider. After being squeezed o' their juicy goodness they, again, will be used in our jams and butters. Once the leaves have left the oaks and the bears curl up in their dens, we too begin to pack up for the winter, and allow the cycle to start again.
