A depressing shell of childhood nostalgia. I get that part of the excitement of bowling is the smelly shoes, beat up seats and antique scoring monitors, but the Bathurst bowlerama lacks the charm necessary to pull this off. Overall we had s good time, but our shoes were falling apart, the bowling balls were so beat up I’m surprised they rolled properly and the bathrooms were gross. The place was pretty dead. I’m sure there are nicer bowling alleys around.
Just recently came here with some friends. Honestly we didnt have a great experience. The pricing here was decent, not cheap but not expensive.The employees/service was also decent. However the biggest issue we had was the lane itself. Specifically lanes 3 and 4. The machines in the back constantly broke down because the ball got stuck or sometimes it didnt load the pins properly and the pins would fall down after it was placed. From the picture below, we were originally in lane 4 but then they switched us to lane 3, until we were switched to lane 8 or 9. In the first picture, lane 4 broke down for like the 5th time, until the employees got tired of going back to fix it thats why there are no pins at the back, so they switchd us to lane 3 and that lane was breaking down too. Also these two pictures were taken at the same time and in the second picture of our scores, my turn was just starting, but as you can see.. i only had one pin placed down. They gave us some extra time for compensation, but it didn't really change much of my experience there. If you do plan on going to this bowling alley. If they place you in lanes 3 or 4, either ask to change lanes or walk back out.
My childhood! I love this place. So much nostalgia. Reasonable prices, kind staff. Just a little grimy, but thats part of the experience!
Great fun. With enough space and great rates. Had lots of fun there and looking forward to bringing more friends over some other day soon.
The lanes and 10pin balls were so bad. Both full of dents. Straight shots would curve quarter way down the lane. The 10pin balls didn't have the numbers on them. Poorly maintained. Food was overpriced. Alcohol was reasonable/good pricing though. $25 a lane split between people wasn't bad but still a poor experience. Place was empty. But offers a lot of game types. Wouldn't recommend unless you really don't care.
If you're looking for a refurbished, renovated, hip place...then look elsewhere. This is an 80s bowlerama clearly clinging to life in this economy, but that being said it was tons of fun and the staff was very friendly with service with a smile. The lanes are clean. I had fun and so did my kid. I like this place and recommend it. Hasn't changed much since I was a teenager a few decades ago...
One of the lanes scored wrong and then the lane we got switched to kept setting up the pins wrong. We got no compensation for this at all, if anything we got hostility from the workers. Also, they started cleaning up an hour and a half before closing which is fine but to do so they turned off the music, turned on all the lights its meant to be glow bowling and started cleaning obnoxiously and made us feel very uncomfortable. It was overpriced, the service was TERRIBLE and the lanes were broken... Not good...
Loved this place! Felt like I stepped back into my childhood. My friends and I had burgers and beers. Our shoes were cute - some old, some brand new. Loved the glow and the dark lights at 9. Not too crowded. We will be back for sure!!!
Good Bowling experience for the casual/social bowler. This rating is for the casual bowlers!! It's not fancy, the esthetics are very plain and a bit outdated, but if you go during their cosmic blowing hours when the lights are dim it's negligible. They have Good pricing, and you can have up to 8 players per lane. They play music a variety of top 40 hits both past and present. The staff was friendly and helpful. A group of 6 players will complete a game in around one hour. If you are just looking for a hangout spot for your friends then this is your best bet, but if you are looking to experience a more modern and trendy side of Toronto then there are better alternatives which will be reflected in their price.
This place is a very typical bowling alley. The atmosphere looks outdated, but I expect that in a bowling alley, and I think I would be disappointed if it weren't. They have 5 pin upstairs and 10 pin downstairs. They do events like glow-in-the-dark bowling later on at night on the weekends. The snacks are pretty standard, and the beer selection is limited. I have not tried their hot, made-to-order food. If you go in the afternoon, the staff do double-duty upstairs and downstairs, so sometimes you have to wait for service. Later on, during more popular hours, there is more staff.
