MISSION STATEMENT

The principle mission of the Bath Village Police Department is to preserve the rights of citizens and to foster confidence in their well being through the prevention of crime, protection of persons and property, and the maintenance of order in public places.

The fair and impartial enforcement of local, state and federal laws will aid the department in its efforts in accomplishing this goal.

Moreover, service to the public has been, and will continue to be, a large part of our function and reason for being.

It is essential that all members remember that in the execution of their duties they act not for themselves but for the good of the public. They shall respect and protect the rights of all individuals and perform their duties with honesty, zeal, courage, discretion, fidelity, and sound judgment that will reflect positively on the department, the Village and the community.

As members of the Bath Village Police Department, we must seek and preserve public confidence by demonstrating impartial service to law and by offering service and trust to all members of the public.

We will perform our duties with a view toward promoting public understanding of, and confidence in, our efforts in law enforcement.

In fulfilling our mission, we need the support of citizens, elected representatives, government officials and the criminal justice system in order to provide the quality of service our values commit us to providing.
