Attended a work event here and they were very friendly and accommodating towards us. Have also been there with friends in the past and had the same great service. The prices are great and enjoy having them close to home for us
Back in the early 70's this was a favourite destination for myself and my brother. We could take our allowance of $0.25 and see a movie - with a nickel left over to get a box of popcorn to go with it! We were so upset when the price went up and our allowance didn't and had to pay the full quarter to get in. No more snacks! But yesterday my daughter was browsing for family history and came across my brother's obit, so I dug around and found some old pictures I had been left. Soon I started Googling some of the places we had lived, and it didn't take long to Pretty soon I was bring up Oromocto and saw the marker for the theatre. It looks unchanged except for the concession prices LOL - still very affordable, I see, but nothing for a nickel . I am so glad that this place has remained, through the best part of 50 years, as an affordable venue for local residents to enjoy. It makes me want to take in another screening of a cheesy 70's SF movie. I think I'll put that on my bucket list. Oromocto, take advantage of this treasure!
Great theatre, and a great price. Seats are comfortable and it is an affordable place to take your family. They only play one movie over the weekend, but this is how they keep the prices low. The movies are usually a week or two after release. Sometimes, they have big ones on opening night Harry Potter/Hunger Games They always draw for a free movie at the end. Lots of Parking available. They are Cash only, so make sure you have some funds. There is a bank machine located across the street at the Cannex. Note: this is open to the public, not just the military.
Came here regularly when I was posted there. The only night I did not enjoy was the halloween marathon. The theater was FULL of young kids talking throughout the entire marathon despite the fact there were signs mentioning that any disturbances will be removed. No such thing occurred. Was sad to leave early and disappoint whom I can only assume is the owner/operator. Good prices for tickets and food, definitely preferred over cineplex.
This is THE place to watch movies in the Fredericton area! The prices are so cheap! Staff are super friendly, washrooms and seats always clean. Seats are comfy, speakers / sound good. Best thing about them though? Their POPCORN! Soooo good! Their secret? They use real butter! None of this questionable oil-ish buttery substitute junk! Don't waste your money at Cineplex in Fredericton, this is worth the drive! And side note, yes, it is on the military base, but is open to everyone!
Great place to watch a movie and for a very reasonable price! If you can survive without nachos and hotdogs then the standard fare of popcorn, candy and softdrinks are reasonably priced too.
Went to the 1pm matinee. There was a woman with a toddler that would not stop talking. The toddler was loud enough that you could not hear some of the dialog in the movie, and the parent did nothing to quiet this child. When my wife went to find an usher or employees to complain there was no one to be found. Nobody at the concessions or at the box office. Any other theatre this would have been dealt with on some level, or you could leave and get your money back, but not here. Not a pleasant experience, I hope the people who run this theatre take more of a proactive role to prevent issues like this in the future.
Seats are comfortable price is really affordable just the movies are a little dated, it's not the latest out. it'll be about a week in theater or two before you see it at Base theater.
It is an excellent low range theater. Don't come here expecting the most amazing audio, but it has new seats, great concessions and excellent pricing.
Was pretty decent for a base theatre and the prices were super affordable as well as cheap concession so cant really argue with that. Not a big theatre but good enough for the base here in Gagetown
