Heard some amazing things about this shop, was excited to stop in and try it. The food and drinks were good but the service was unlike anything I have ever experienced. The lady serving us seemed as if we were inconveniencing her by our mere presence. I inquired about ice cream floats and instead of a simple no, I was made to feel like a toddler who was in trouble. My girlfriend picked up a punch card to admire the design and branding and it was quickly ripped from her hand. Very puzzling. Coffee was great though.
Went by the Marine location a few days ago. I never ever write reviews but felt compelled to do so. I had a muffin better than any I have had at any coffee shop!!! Homemade fresh and delicious. I am telling everyone I know to stop by and try their amazing baked goods!!!It was a berry peach muffin. Can't wait to try what they have next time!! Thanks Base Camp! Great effort and delicious selections. Vegetarian options: They have vegan grilled cheese and a pesto tomato spinach and cheese! Great veggie options.
The atmosphere and the cashier was very sweet. A customer left their wallet and cellphone. I asked the barista if she happened to see the man that was sitting on the bench that she just served. She responded I don’t know what man you’re talking about. Not sure where the abruptness or impatience she felt rightly to express.. but luckily we found the owner outside. I said thank-you for my coffee, but she turned around in silence. I’m not sure how I offended her, maybe I stopped her flow. Overall strange exchange, but please be more open to helping others! Have a good one
Cool local hangout. Streetscape stuff to see as one sips into the day. Good preprepared food.
Heard their breakfast sandwiches were really good but they were all pre-assembled, so when they were heated up the center was very cold. Bread was excellent, small selectionFood: 2/5
Visited this cute cafe when we were visiting Powel River! It had a cute atmosphere and friendly people. Their London Fog was delicious!!Food: 5/5
Had a fantastic experience at this place! The staff was very kind and friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming and felt very 'west coast', and the food was top-notch. Can't wait to come back!
Popped in here after returning from Lund and waiting in the ferry to head back to Comox. Great shop that totally had their look and feel dialed and love their branding. I was able to enjoy a snack made fresh and a great coffee with solid free wifi working on my laptop in a funky and cool atmosphere. If I’m in town waiting on the ferry again I will walk over here again for sure
Worst cup of coffee I have ever had. Not sure if it was burnt or just a bad roast but no amount of cream or sugar could fix it and black was undrinkable.Food: 1/5
We enjoyed delicious paninis - the one with mushroom was was so tasty - sides of soups and took home a pack of thirty ginger cookies. Portions were filling . Great spot for a brunch, lunch or treats if ever in Powell River.
