Second visit here. The first after placing my order I requested a refund. The hostess/cashier was eating chips out of the bin between customers. I asked for a refund. My item was refunded. Less the tip. The manager assured me he would speak with the hostess. That was relight around the time they opened. I decided to give them a second chance. It is definitely a gourmet taco shop. The side dishes of slaw and beans are super small. There were numerous tables that were not clean with trash and trays on them. They were not very busy and every one was in the kitchen chatting. It looks like a great establishment but the service falls short. There was a lot of meat in the tacos. We ordered pulled pork and brisket. I ate about 1/2 of each and the meat was just chewy and tough. As per some of the other reviews. I agree. It seems be more “to go” focused. Not dine in.
It's not BBQ, unless you get the ribs on Friday & Saturdays. So don't be fooled...this is a taco place with a sophisticated twist . 99% of items are in a form of a taco. Great concept, however not my jam. I tried the breakfast one of course, and first bit, good, but I definitely didn't finish...it was.... different...and "too much" going on for my plain Jane pallet. Howeverrrrrr, if you are looking for something different, out there, come here. Inside is super cute, staff was friendly. Side note...They were 86, of some items so that needs some improvement...
Most unique and tasty tacos we've had in a long time! We had the brisket and spicy chicken Hawaiian...absolutely great!! Mac N' Cheese and queso great as well. Tacos are pretty big, may only need one, but two if you're hungry. Wasn't clear on Google if they had beer, they do! Staff is friendly and works together well. We'd go back!! Vegetarian options: Veggie tacos available. Parking: Pull up front parking downtown. Wheelchair accessibility: On the first floor, no steps to front door or inside.
Cute little concept, but the execution fell flat for us. Definately NOT what we expected. And we WANTED to like the place. The service was focused more on TO GO orders instead of customers that were actually THERE in person to dine in. It felt like we were more of a distraction than Welcome. The Cashier was still talking to kitchen staff while taking our order, which was probably why part of our order came out incorrect. When the food came out, it didnt look nice and the tastes were like NO BBQ Ive ever had. Like I said, we really wanted to like this place, but this experience was not return inspiring. Best wished to your business.
The only reason why it’s not a 5 is because it wasn’t hot. The food was great and the portion is good. Below is the half order of the Trough nachos. The chips are thicker to stand up against the queso/heavier toppings and not break. Chips don’t have flavor, but the toppings fit great with it.
First time ever eating here and 10/10 would recommend! Food was amazing, I ordered chicken, bacon, apple taco and cole slaw! And I was not disappointed. My friend ordered chicken queso and that was also amazing!Food: 5/5
Traveling Doctor. Patient sent me here for shrimp tacos. Lived in Florida 13 years and this was perfect seafood taco. Will go back later in the week. Wait staff was super nice. Didn't wait.
On point! Excellent, fast and friendly! I loved that items had a unique flavor without getting too out of the box. I really enjoyed the coleslaw and mac and cheese but everything was beyond expectations. Great sizes to finish there or try a bit more to take some home. I will highly recommend this to all my friends!
Very nice store front restaurant in downtown Bay City. Higher end food in a nice setting. If you are looking to gulp down a cheap, unimaginative lunch, this might not be the place for you. These are not your parent's tacos; that's for sure. Gourmet smoked meat tacos No ground beef, lettuce and cheese here Well prepared and tasty, tacos come out fresh and hot with toppings that complement and enhance the the proteins. Order at the counter and food is brought to the table. All food brought in disposable containers. taco truck style All food is ala carte, with a limited number of well executed sides. Dinner for 4 with sodas, 2 sides and 2 appetizers house made tater tots were luscious came to about $12.00 per person. No dessert available yet. Looking forward to going back for the Trough of nachos.
10/10 I will be visiting again when in the area. Everything tasted homemade and fresh, and we were so happy with the price. I tried the surf and turf taco, coleslaw, and beans and I have no complaints! I appreciated that they did their best to be accommodating with my food sensitivities too.
