Beautiful island to walk or bike at. Seems to teleport you out of Surrey and it's an extra special gift if you get greeted by a native resident on one of the farms here. Nice views of water running with logs on it, greenery, farm animals and the golden ears bridge. One thing about the day we visited was that there were some mosquitoes there so I'd recommend preparation for that such as wearing full sleeves and repellant if you have blood that they like.
I love it here. Great place for flat cycling. Lots of animals. Got some awesome pictures.
I left here with so many questions lol. Ok, so the ferry is free and it can take up to four vehicles. When we docked off, we turned left and there is one road that makes a circle around this tiny island. I believe one side is farm land and not much homes and as we came to the other side of the island seems to be a reservation, there what seemed to be less then 20 homes. I didn’t see one human while driving, it’s very unique and a different experience but enjoyed it at the same time because it was quiet and untouched. Something like this makes me wonder why no billionaires haven’t bought the island and built a mansion on it, maybe it’s a protected land?? Idk
Single best biking circuit for little kids learning to master bike riding. Flat. Short. Little farm distractions and 2 small parks close to one another. The miniature ferry is the icing on the cake for a great half day experience.
It's not a bad walk until you see the terrible abandoned houses and the native reservation... not racism just fact. The donkeys in the middle of the island are cute. Fyi there is no parking allowed anywhere on the island. The ferry ride is fun haha!
Nice and quiet place in lower mainland with nice river views and farm. Free ferry 6am - 12am. One road was closed due to construction.
A nice quiet place for a chilled afternoon, with views to the water all around. You could walk all around if you up for the workout or just bike it.
Interesting island accessible by free ferry operated on demand. Hardly see anyone on the island which makes it a great place to bike around.
A beautiful place for an afternoon bicycle ride/picnic. This place hasn't noticeably changed in generations. Little free ferry over, Zero amenities on the island except a public washroom and a bit of helpful signage. Come prepared to be self sufficient!
What a beautiful drive around the island. It is nice and quiet and away from the busy life.
