I hate this place. Thank god I paid for a lawyer. Took us going there 4 times just to pull discovery and it was me sitting on the bench doing absolutely nothing with no audio. It would not have happened in Worcester. There was absolutely no evidence of anything. I genuinely had no idea why I was being searched or why I was being arrested. I do not recommend ending up here. Should have been a marked lanes violation. Be very careful while driving. You don't want to end up here.
First off the staff have no policy on what they wear for clothes, if you go up to probation department the woman dress so provocative one looked like her chest was going to fall out her shirt another had a revealing tight dress on. I came in with my child to help pay a fine for a friend. It was embarrassing to say the least. Second the alcohol testing is so easy to get around my nephew drinks daily and gets tested..the whole system in this court is backwards for how it should be. Not setting a good example to the community.
James Burns drunk 3 times the state alcohol limit drives the wrong way & hits another vehicle head on, is allowed to walk a free man, keep his driver license and job via the Barnstable District Court behind closed doors! What happens next time he kills someone? Burns is a loose cannon long before April 2021, a tiger doesn't change his stripes.
Did not even get a shot at justice when appealing a speeding ticket. The Magistrate working at 2pm on 10/28 should be investigated. I was allowed 3 words just introducing myself before I was cut off and told that I'm responsible. I was not even provided an opportunity to state the facts.
While the Judges and staff are competent and efficient, the sitting Magistrate is an embarrassment to the system and would fit better in Mississippi. Be very careful and take a lawyer for Magistrate Hearings and Small Claims as well. Unfit for the position doesn't begin to describe the problem.
