Story

Hello friends and dog-lovers. I’m Michelle Bailey. I've always had a soft spot for rescued creatures – from dogs and cats, to the weird and wonderful. I first came to Bark Busters as a desperate client. My husband and I had rescued a gorgeous Australian Cattle Dog mix, and within a month or two, he was becoming increasingly dog-aggressive and was starting to show aggression toward humans too. As a dog that could inflict real damage with a bite, he was costing us thousands of dollars in other people’s vet bills. With a baby on the way, we were scared. This behaviour couldn’t continue. We contacted Bark Busters and within the first two hours of the lesson we were absolutely floored by how simple techniques could make such an enormous difference in our lives. After that, I was hooked. I loved the deep satisfaction that training my dog gave me, and I had to share that with other dog owners. I firmly believe that my dog would have been euthanized were it not for Bark Busters. I've helped hundreds of dogs just like mine since that day, with distraught owners who are faced with the choice of giving up or possibly euthanizing their dog.

Michelle helped my family with a 2year old rehomed beagle. When he came to our home 2 months ago he was jumping up on guests and us when he was very excited coming home, entering a space. He was also demanding our attention by mouthing or pawing us. Michelle let us know she was training us not the dog : Michelle gave us some great tools to manage this behaviour. We saw many positive changes in him immediately. We feel Michelle really took the time to hear our concerns and challenges knowing that Buster was still new to our home and that we were all still getting to know each other. At our check in we shared that we had some challenges with him in the yard so she came back to our home and provided us with some more tools. Again she took the time to really hear where the challenges lie. She also helped us fine tune some of the tools she had already provided us with. She gave us great feedback at our check in as well. Michelle also gave very helpful write ups that we revisit daily at first to remind us of the tools and things we need to do to make them successful. She also provided us with great resources to share with our 4yr old son. Michelle is very responsive to questions or concerns which was great! Michelle truly helped us transition Buster into our home successfully by training us and increasing our confidence in managing his excitement. She gave us the tools to show Buster where he fits in our pack. We are grateful for her help and will not hesitate to reach out to her again in the future.
Linda is amazing! Worth every penny if you care about your dog. Like us, after decades of dog owning and obedience training the underlying cause of your dog's behaviour will be a 100% lack of owner understanding "dog speak", full stop. My husband and I are so grateful to Linda for her help with our two dogs. We have a 10 year old heeler lab mix and 9 month old aussie/german shepherd collie mix both rescues. Our 10 year old always had a few issues that we just lived with but when we got our puppy- we felt like we had no control. We hit our breaking point last month when we couldn't even walk him anymore and he was jumping all over everyone when we have a baby on the way. We contacted Bark Busters and they made an appointment for us with Linda. When she came to our house we could immediately tell she was extremely knowledgeable and we trusted she could help us. She was very thorough and took her time going over each of our dogs with us and explaining the training/correction methods. By the time she left, both dogs were completely different in their behaviour and how they responded to my husband and I- our neighbours even noticed a change! That evening I was able to walk the 9 month old for the first time by myself in months. Both dogs are calm, relaxed and responding to the corrections she taught us. The puppy didn't even jump up at our 8 year old son when he got home. Thank you SO much Linda- we recommend you to anyone!
Working with Michelle at BarkBusters has been an amazing experience for our family and with our dog. This method brings common sense, understanding of dog behaviour and easy to follow training to the dog ownership experience - as a new owner I am so glad I called BarkBusters! Michelle was patient with the humans! and open to a million questions - she is great to work with! I highly recommend this training service - and Treacle is so thankful to be relieved of his guard dog duties and leave his owners to be in charge! If you have issues with ANY dog behaviour - this is the way to go and Michelle is terrific!
We have used Bark Busters for our 10 year old when he was 4, and we were amazed and the instant reaction with our pup and the trainer, and after one session had the tools which worked in correcting what needed to be, like walks and barking. When we moved years later, they were accommodating and we had another great session on how to deal with our dog and his new large yard. In December of last year, we used Bark Busters again for our rescue dog, who is a 2 year old high anxious dog. Very opposite of our other one. The trainng was extremely helpful and we have a bag of tricks to use which have been helping her feel more comfortable. Thank you Michelle for your amazing work!
Michelle in Hamilton-Niagara area is fantastic! She really listens to us to understand what specifically sets our dog off and continues to provide us with useful exercises and tips to train both the dog and the people. Highly recommended.
My husband and I engaged Michelle to assist us with an addition to the pack. Michelle attended our home to learn about our pups and to train us. Michelle is the most patient and passionate trainer we have ever met. She takes the time to understand our situation, and coaches us step by step. Her love as a trainer is evident in the way that she engages the humans and our four legged family members. Michelle’s instruction has lifted a weight off our shoulders and we have continued to feel supported thru the progress checkins, emails and subsequent visits. We have a wonderful, loving, sweet, affectionate rescue dog that was guarding and running our household. After our first appointment and one week of homework/training, our Finn was a different dog. He is so much more relaxed. We just keep looking at each other, in awe, because he has changed so much. The attachment issue and the door bell issue are a work in progress, but he has improved. As humans, we cannot wait to learn more so that we can help Finn live to his full potential. Thanks Bark Busters and our trainer, Linda.
We are very happy with the results we have seen with our dogs. It is wonderful to no longer have to pull my barking dogs off my visitors while apologizing profusely. It’s lovely to walk them without the pulling and barking when we see a person or a dog. They listen and it’s fantastic! Thank you Michelle
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! We contacted Bark Busters for help because our puppy had some minor issues to over come. The cost of the training your looking at around 1200$. Can't remember the exact price. The trainer came out willingly 2x to our home and spent a total of 1hour between both sessions actually "training". We tried everything she had suggested and with no luck it didn't work. We then contacted the trainer and basically had to beg her to come back. We paid you a decent buck that we were under the impression was suppose to be for our dogs lifetime. Needless to say there "BAH" system and throwing a disk filled with chains at my fence was a joke. Please do your research before considering Bark Busters as your trainer of choice. I wish I had of prior to signing up.
